Nature’s Sunshine’s Human Resources team has been innovative in developing employer branding collateral to engage employees and leaders alike.
Their theme, Connect with Nature, engages employees across the organization with our products, purpose, and brand. From their onboarding experience to their employer brand, they’ve built training tools to help leaders and employees alike be successful in building a great culture.
Many companies onboard employees by sharing a general overview of the company. Nature’s Sunshine HR goes above and beyond by developing branded collateral to help leaders succeed in building winning teams. Employees learn about our 50+ years of history, organizational design, product information, benefits, branding, resources, and processes.
Using Leadership EDGE— a focused program developed using engagement survey data by our VP of HR in conjunction with the CEO—they help leaders understand the why, how, and what to do to elevate teams and drive results. This program, along with the Leadership EDGE onboarding, helps catapult leaders forward.
The Leadership EDGE outlines competencies and expectations for our leaders to embrace. These include: developing plans, inspiring excellence, accelerating decision making, and building and harnessing talent, which ultimately elevates teams and drives results.
Additionally, this innovative team has created a three-year leadership development program for high potential leaders. This three-year program focuses on the following three areas:
- Year One: Leadership Fundamentals
- Year Two: Advanced Leadership Skills
- Year Three: Functional Excellence
In addition, our HR leadership team works annually with top business unit leaders to build a pay for performance model, which includes a comprehensive compensation benchmarking analysis for every position in the company. They also work with business unit leaders annually on performance and talent reviews to identify high potential leaders, as well as creating a succession plan for key roles and positions.
The VP of HR also works with the Board of Directors on the same performance measures, as well as Executive 360 processes, functional excellence, and Executive coaching to help leaders scale-up.
Transformation
Our Executive Team, including our VP of HR, has been working to transform our company. We have transitioned to an omni-channel model and re-launched every part of our business, from a refreshed brand image to an entirely new set of digital tools to create an easier, more engaging user experience.
We have also leaned into innovation, launching a new product line designed to provide foundational nutrition, elevate performance and provide a more personalized experience. This line includes wholefood, superfood supplements like Power Beets, Power Greens, and Power Meal along with pre-packaged, personalized supplements in Power Packs.

General Managers from around the world are also invited to attend or to watch recordings.
