Kissimmee, Florida offers an enormous range of travel experiences ranging from thrilling rides in Disney theme parks and airboat adventures on the headwaters of the Everglades to gator encounters in local nature attractions and luxurious stays in vacation rental homes. In early 2021, Experience Kissimmee ramped up its efforts to make the most of its Facebook platform and show potential visitors (families, groups of friends, couples and individuals) the many ways in which the destination is a gateway to endless vacation fun and entertainment. To expand awareness of the destination, the brand website and local business offerings, Experience Kissimmee launched robust, highly relatable photo- and video-driven content on Facebook. Among the most innovative content in the Experience Kissimmee Facebooo platform: Stories comprising high-impact videos (shared to the platform from Instagram) and FB Live sessions.
All content is geared to capturing local attractions and the diverse range of entertaining activity options within them. FB posts are published once every weekday through the Sprout scheduling service. Links lead to Experience Kissimmee website content as well as the sites of local businesses catering to travelers.
- CROSS-PROMOTIONS. With an eye toward creating content that can be used and promoted across their various social platforms, Experience Kissimmee shapes posts that include promotions of Kissimmee On-The-Go videos that appear in the destination’s YouTube channel and detail many exciting experiences and adventures within a particular attraction.
- LIVE SESSIONS. Additionally, Experience Kissimmee hosts Live video sessions during which they showcase what is happening at an attraction or event, and what guests can do in real time. These Live sessions attract a large audience that appreciates the immediacy of the connection with the destination and the ability to participate in the moment. Subsequently, the session videos are published to garner additional views.
RESULTS
A comparison of the social platform metrics of the latest year-and-three-month period
(January 1, 2021 – March 16, 2022) with the immediately preceding period of approximately the same duration (Oct. 19, 2019 – Dec. 31, 2020) shows that Experience Kissimmee’s inventive content on Facebook has increased reach, page visits and likes. Experience Kissimmee has succeeded in amplifying awareness of the brand and local businesses with fun, inspirational content that mirrors Kissimmee’s character; motivates visitation; and provides information that helps visitors plan their travel.
