    Total 197 words used.

The NFIP Success Stories is a video campaign that showcases the resiliency of real-life U.S. residents and communities who’ve recovered from significant flooding events, due in large part to having flood insurance. Often, residents who don’t have flood insurance will say they don’t need it: they don’t live near water, their mortgage doesn’t require it, or they don’t need to worry about flooding. Yet the reality is that extreme weather is becoming more prevalent and flooding can happen to anyone, anywhere.

The communications objective was to highlight the real-life stories and successful results from those who recovered from flooding and built back stronger than ever with flood insurance.

To achieve this objective, the “Flowing Forward – St. Louis” video highlights the resilience of a Missouri resident and flood insurance policyholder, who experienced five floods in eight years. Thanks to the NFIP Buyout Program, a voluntary opportunity for eligible residents to sell their flood-prone property, the resident was able to rebuild her life and eventually relocate.

The video also educates viewers about factors that make them vulnerable to rising water so they ultimately understand— if not for flood insurance, recovery from flood disasters is far more challenging.
