Truveta is using AI to unlock medical insights that will improve healthcare for everyone. Truveta is a growing collective of more than 30 U.S. health systems, who provide 18% of the daily clinical care, with a shared mission of Saving Lives with Data. Trusted by more than 50 leading life science, government, and healthcare organizations, Truveta enables scientifically rigorous research with regulatory-grade data and powerful analytics.
As the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged the world, healthcare providers struggled to learn how to treat the virus – millions died. The world needed faster answers, clearer guidance, and the opportunity to learn from each other. It became clear – the world needed Truveta. In September 2020, the company was founded by innovative health systems pooling their electronic health data for research.
Since its founding, the company has grown from a dozen employees to more than 250 experts in health science and technology and from 14 health systems to more than 30. Pfizer, Boston Scientific, Moderna, Boehringer Ingelheim, UCB, and other life science organizations use Truveta to advance medical research and save lives. And now the CDC will use Truveta Data for ongoing respiratory virus surveillance and to study maternal health and pediatric care.

In January 2022, Truveta announced a strategic collaboration with Pfizer to deliver new safety insights on a continuous basis, using verifiable real-world data at scale. Simultaneously, Truveta Data grew from 40 million patients to more than 100 million patients in under two years since its founding. Later in 2022, among other accomplishments, the company unveiled Truveta Studio which brings together unprecedented health data and analytics for researchers to study patient care and outcomes with any condition, drug, or medical device.
In 2023, the team continued the innovative momentum with the release of the Truveta Language Model (TLM), a large-language, multi-modal AI model for transforming EHR data into billions of clean and accurate data points for health research on patient outcomes.
TLM’s healthcare expertise is trained on the largest collection of complete medical records representing the full diversity of the U.S. It is the first large-language model specifically designed to empower researchers to study all patient care and outcomes. Utilizing clean, de-identified data from health system members, TLM is trained upon nearly 100 million patient journeys, including 5.5 billion diagnoses, 3.1 billion encounters, and 2.4 billion medication orders.
In the last year, Truveta has earned several peer-reviewed publications, including in JAMA Pediatrics, Vaccine, Frontiers in Public Health, and more. In 2024, Truveta Data was selected to help facilitate the CDC’s COVID response and surveillance efforts as it enables CDC scientists to access representative patient-level data, without delays, for statistically significant populations.
- If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the organization's past performance (up to 250 words):

Truveta brought to life a vision where AI is being used to unlock insights to improve patient care in the U.S. in the last three years. But this couldn’t have been possible without the deep relationship with its health system members or even the advancements in cloud and AI technology of the last 5 years. Unlike other competitors in the market, Truveta was formed and founded by health systems.
Truveta is a growing collective of more than 30 health systems who provide over 18% of the daily clinical care across the United States. Member health systems provide complete medical records for more than 100 million patients, which are then linked across health systems and augmented with claims, social drivers of health (SDOH), and mortality data to provide a complete, longitudinal view of patient journeys.
Using Truveta Data, TLM combines pre-trained open large language models with additional training on the most representative clinical data set to achieve over 90 percent accuracy on diagnoses, medications, lab results, clinical observations, and more. With TLM, Truveta’s community of healthcare and life science customers are currently studying concepts previously inaccessible in messy clinician notes but now structured for analytics, such as seizure frequency, changes in treatment regimen, and adverse reactions to medication.
This massive transformation of healthcare data is only possible with state-of-the-art AI. Truveta’s team of technologists and clinical experts have decades of experience in their domains and are leading the industry in using AI to accurately make health data useful for research.
