Trellix’s Mind of the CISO initiative launched in 2023 to bring global attention to the needs of the CISO community, driving cybersecurity and AI best practices. The collaborative efforts span an inaugural CISO Council, research, resources like eBooks, and Trellix-sponsored and Trellix-hosted events and programs like the Global 100 CISO Awards, CISO Roundtables, RSA CISO Bootcamp, and Virtual Summits and Webinars. In April, Trellix published its first Mind of the CISO research, which uncovered the need for increased engagement and support for CISOs worldwide as they navigate the modern threat landscape and subsequent additional risk. Trellix’s Mind of the CISO initiative addresses this need, creating additional resources and pathways to support collaboration between CISOs and key organizational stakeholders. Highlights include:

    • In July, Trellix’s CISO Council launched with nine members. It is founded on the principle of information sharing and brings together influential experts from around the world to educate industries on the challenges and solutions needed to effect change. Members participate in Trellix-hosted thought leadership events and provide insightful contributed content like LinkedIn Lives and blogs.

    • Trellix launched two research reports. The first examines the needs of CISOs worldwide - the top challenges faced, the tools and resources needed to secure their organizations, and where current gaps exist. The second, “Behind the Breach,” examines lessons learned from CISOs who have experienced a major cyber incident.

    • Trellix hosted various webinars and summits throughout the year to help CISOs strategize and build operational resilience—topics covered ransomware, Zero Trust, AI, and XDR.

  5. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Describe the development of the campaign or program: the planning process, the goal setting, the creative and media development, the scheduling, etc. (up to 250 words):

    Total 196 words used.

The development of Trellix’s Mind of the CISO Initiative was led by Trellix’s PR team, with the support of Trellix’s CISO and team, as well as Social/Digital, Content Marketing, Customer Marketing, Creative Services, and support from Sales and our PR agency. Since its launch, the success of the program has hinged heavily on collaboration with Trellix’s CISO and CISO Transformation Lead, the CISO Council, Content Marketing, Social/Digital, PR, Events, and Demand Gen/Marketing Operations, in addition to third-party support by our research and PR firms, with support to drive engagement and attendance for events from Customer Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales. The PR Team pulled in additional marketing functions for initial brainstorming, pulled together a proposed plan for sign-off by the CMO and CISO, and then launched the plan and hosted bi-weekly meetings with key stakeholders to ensure a successful launch. The meetings continued into 2024 in the same cadence to maintain momentum and keep track of planned activities, deliverables, and new opportunities with the core planning and execution team. Quarterly updates are reported to the CMO and Leadership Team. One of the initiative's goals for 2024 is to have meaningful engagements with over 1,000 CISOs.

  6. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this fourth question: Outline the activities and concrete results of this campaign or program since the beginning of 2022. Even if your initiative started before 2022, limit your response to activities and results since the beginning of 2022 only (up to 250 words):

    Total 200 words used.

The initiative has proven successful because the content and hosted events provide value for the CISO community. Leveraging the Mind of the CISO research, Trellix focuses on the top challenges CISOs face, like adopting AI, ransomware, the changing regulatory landscape, a growing attack surface, and the lack of skilled talent on their teams. Trellix’s two Mind of the CISO research reports garnered over 300 pieces of global coverage in the media. The combined number of visits to the research landing pages on the Trellix website was over 4,000. Trellix crafted three press releases and six blogs covering CISO perspectives, the Mind of the CISO research, and the initiative. Trellix published 72 social posts focused on the Mind of the CISO campaign, which garnered over 160,000 impressions and 2,697 engagements. Trellix launched its inaugural CISO Council with nine members, has added an additional member, and all members remain engaged and active. Trellix hosted 21 educational and thought leadership events and workshops for global CISO attendees focused on top-of-mind issues like how to defend against the growing and evolving threat of ransomware and how to implement a zero-trust framework. The Ransomware Virtual Summit had over 7,500 registered attendees.
