OBJECTIVE: The Stories and Wisdom Company undertook a project to help busy team members who were frustrated with their lack of alignment arising from lack of clarity in roles & responsibilities. The primary objective was: “To foster a cohesive and motivated team” with:
- Enhance empathy & team bonding.
- Strengthen clarity of roles and responsibilities.
SOLUTION: Using neuroscientific methods, using the design pillars of Storytelling, Gamification, and Social Learning, we introduced a synchronous multi-player digital card-game named “STORIES”. Key features include:
- White prompt cards for discussions.
- Black story cards to deepen engagement.
- Allyship stickers to foster empathetic reactions.
This encouraged the team to explore sensitive topics with empathy and mutual support, aligning seamlessly with the organizational mission.
OUTCOME: The immersive storytelling approach of this blended learning experience led to significant outcomes:
- Enhanced empathy, team bonding, and role clarity.
- 9/10 rating for the overall experience in post-experience feedback.
- 85% of learners believed the desired learning outcome was met.
- 91.7% of participants acknowledged successful achievement of intended learning objectives.
Stakeholders recognized the game's potential for broader applications, expressing enthusiasm for potential scaling and AI integration. Follow-ups with the client are underway for a broader roll-out.
