SugarSync allows all of a user's devices and the web to work as one. As such, it is the easiest way to keep digital media and files automatically in sync across multiple computers, backed up online, and remotely accessible from mobile phones. http://www.sugarsync.com/products/tour/index.html
The patent-pending technology (in development for over 4 years) provides the only real-time, multi-platform push synchronization of all data commercially available in the market today.
The response from the marketplace has been tremendous, as user demand has been very strong http://www.brianberliner.com/2008/04/18/sharpcast-sugarsync-launch-statistics/ and the industry reaction has been incredibly positive http://www.sugarsync.com/company/press_awards.html.
There are several reasons why the problem that SugarSync solves has commanded so much attention … (1) A significant increase in the number of people with multiple computers (2) A rapid proliferation of connected mobile devices, especially Internet-connected smartphones (3) The increasing importance of the web as a place to store and manage content, with rising broadband penetration and faster speeds to facilitate data transfer to/from the web (4) The desire for users to have their data revolve around them - regardless of how or where they are accessing it – and have changes made in one place reflected in all of the other places that they may access it.
SugarSync is in a position to help lead the computing industry into the era of ‘convergence’, where a user can access their data anytime, anywhere and have any update made in one place automatically updated everywhere else.
