Since the beginning of 2022 through its Primrose Promise℠ Corporate Social Responsibility program, Primrose Schools and its over 500 independently owned schools across the country collectively donated more than $1.1 million and gifted over 900,000 items to underserved children and families across the US. Driven by Primrose’s mission to forge a path that leads to a brighter future for all children, the program gives Primrose franchise owners, staff, students and their families as well as Primrose Support Center team members the opportunity to participate in meaningful service learning and charitable giving efforts that make a difference in their communities.
-
As part of the more than $1.1 million in monetary donations, families raised more than $500,000 for the Primrose Schools Children's Foundation®, the charitable arm of Primrose Schools that exists to provide a brighter future for children who are underserved and to expand access to high-quality early education and care through research and advocacy.
-
In 2022 in addition to the funds donated to various organizations, Primrose schools, Support Center staff, vendor partners and the Primrose Schools Children’s Foundation collectively donated over $500,000 to the West Lakes Early Learning Center, an innovative nonprofit early education and care center for underserved families. Launched in 2020 with the support of Primrose Schools, the center offers the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum to empower its young students, over 90 percent of whom would not be able to attend the school without subsidized tuition.

Each year, the system strives to increase its monetary donations and gift more items than the previous year. In 2022, the organization achieved a 71% increase in monetary donations compared to 2021 when schools were operating under the limitations of COVID-19 protocols. In 2023, the organization achieved a 6% increase in monetary donations and a 20% increase in gifted items.
-
While philanthropy may be seen as a common act of service, it’s not every day that children between the ages of zero and five engage in service-learning projects and fundraisers to help underserved communities. Each year, Primrose students spend the entire month of February collecting new and gently used books for the annual Og’s Bountiful Book Drive. Then in November throughout the giving season, Primrose students join forces to collect nonperishable food donations for the annual Caring and Giving Food Drive. Families of infants and toddlers are encouraged to bring in canned goods, while older children — preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten — may do chores at home to earn the money to buy food items to donate.
-
Embedded in the Balanced Learning® curriculum and at the local, market and brand levels of the organization, the collective donations highlight how service excellence and giving without expectation is engrained in the Primrose experience.
- You have the option to answer this final question: Reference any attachments of supporting materials throughout this nomination and how they provide evidence of the claims you have made in this nomination (up to 250 words):
