Market Street Partners is an accounting firm providing tax, audit, consulting, and outsourced accounting services. When we founded our firm in 2016, we set out to do things differently. After all, just because we operate in a more traditional industry doesn’t mean we have to operate the same way as legacy firms.

The bulk of our clients are small to midsize businesses, and we feel we’re in tune with their needs so well because we’re a growing business ourselves, fighting many of the same battles they face every day. We offer an empathetic ear, and we apply a proactive mindset to our work, believing that such a stance is the only one that can spur growth for the people and businesses depending on us.

Our mission is to deliver professional, proactive service to our customers in an approachable way. No stereotypical, stuffy accounting firm vibes here. We are a technology-forward firm, meaning that we learn about and utilize the industry’s leading technologies to make our work more efficient, more accurate, and more transparent for our customers.

  4. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this second question: Outline the organization's achievements since the beginning of 2021 that you wish to bring to the judges' attention (up to 250 words):

    Total 232 words used.

From the start of 2021 until now, our growth has been exponential. Including partners, our firm employs 40 team members, as well as several contractors, and we serve more than 1,400 clients, a number that increases steadily every year. We are committed to learning and implementing technologies that make our work more efficient, accurate, and cost-effective for our clients. We serve as trusted advisors to many area businesses and organizations that know we have their best interests at heart. From 2018 to 2021 alone, our revenue grew by almost 217 percent.

At MSP, we also see it as part of our responsibility as active members of our community to go beyond just delivering top-tier accounting services and also focus on giving back. For that reason, we launched the MSP Foundation in 2020. Although we have donated to and volunteered with numerous organizations since our founding in 2016, we decided to formalize our efforts just over two years ago. The MSP Foundation not only hosts an annual golf tournament in support of a local nonprofit, but also allows employees to donate to organizations of their choosing, with their gifts matched by our firm at 100%.

In addition to the achievements and milestones mentioned above, we’ve enjoyed a monumental year with awards and recognitions. To save time and minimize redundancy for the judges, we’ve placed all those details in answer No. 6 below.

  5. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the organization's past performance (up to 250 words):

    Total 238 words used.

We’re seeing a generational shift in business — the Baby Boomer generation is retiring and handing the reigns over to members of Gen X and millennials at a rapid clip. Because of this, our firm’s commitment to making accounting approachable has really set us apart from the traditional stuffy accounting firm that likely comes to mind. Walking into our office, you’re more likely to see a pair of jeans than a suit and tie. You’re more likely to find folks collaborating on an issue in a conference room than you are to see closed doors. We’ve found that this more relaxed and collaborative approach creates a less tense atmosphere, making our team members happier and our customers more comfortable when they’re working with us.

We’ve always been a client- and team-centric business. In fact, we think one can’t function well without the other. In order for our team members to enjoy their jobs and do great work for our clients, they have to be supported. In order for our customers to be happy with the work we’re doing, our employees have to enjoy doing it. We have achieved this true partnership level of service by approaching our work as a team. Nobody is on an island, and we know we’re all working toward a shared goal. Because of all this, we’ve received a long list of awards and recognitions that we’re incredibly proud of (see No. 6 below).

  6. You have the option to answer this final question: Reference any attachments of supporting materials throughout this nomination and how they provide evidence of the claims you have made in this nomination (up to 250 words):
