Nomination Title: Patrick Espinoza, National Sales Manager

  1. Tell the story about what this nominee achieved since January 1 2007 (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

    The numbers speak for themselves.

$49,407,330 booked on a goal of $15,988,755. That is a positive variance of
    $33,418,575, or 309.01% of goal.

Patrick Espinoza has been the torch-bearer for our team for a number of years,
but it is over the course of the last year that he has really entered a
    stratosphere all his own.

Patrick has always been a dependable, hard-working, and successful component of
our team. Following the merger of Caesars and Harrah’s, Patrick was asked to
take on a number of different roles, both from a sales perspective as well as
from a leadership perspective. He was always willing to do whatever was needed
and, at every turn, he excelled.

After being asked to take on the challenge of National Sales Manager for Caesars
Palace on our Eastern region team, Patrick was so successful in the first
quarter of 2007, he could have taken the entire rest of the year off had we let
him, since he not only met but surpassed his entire annual goal in the first
three months of the year! That incredible feat proved not to be a fluke as
Patrick was our top performing salesperson every quarter, exceeding his goal by
double and triple digits each and every time.

Half-way through the year, when we needed help at Bally’s and Paris, we asked
Patrick to again make a major change for the greater good of the department and
company. He didn’t hesitate for one second and, in the usual Patrick way, said,
“I will do anything.” He immediately went to work, selling all three properties
at the national level (the highest salesperson on a team, responsible for the
largest of groups and the highest goals and responsible for the leadership of
that sales team) until a replacement could be found for his position on the
    Caesars team.

Once again, not only did Patrick take a lagging business up to par, succeeding
where his predecessor had not, he immediately shot straight to the top, making
Bally’s/Paris the first properties to reach goal that quarter. These results
were not defined by a particular property, or market, or season. These results
have clearly been brought about by a salesperson who has proven to be unstoppable!

Despite all of his effort and success, Patrick is not so busy that he cannot
build and maintain the strong and positive relationships that are so critical to
the long term health of our business. He is well-liked and well-respected by
both customers and colleagues. A real measure of one’s success.
