Komprise Intelligent Data Management is a pioneering solution tackling enterprise challenges of managing petabytes of unstructured data across data silos, which is critical for leveraging AI technologies which depend upon large volumes of unstructured data. In 2023, Komprise introduced Storage Insights, a new console which unifies data centric and storage centric metrics, saving IT managers time and hassle to understand data across storage and determine the best plans for cost savings and right placing it for analytics initiatives. Storage architects can view dozens of metrics on data growth, costs and usage by storage vendor or share/site and execute plans to move, copy, delete or tier data to new storage.
Without this capability, storage professionals must login separately to each storage product and attempt to reconcile metrics. The Storage Insights feature gives IT deep insights into all their data to make informed decisions about storage optimization, data movement and resource allocation—in one place. Komprise also continues to release new shareable reports so departments can understand their own data usage and costs, opportunities for improved compliance (finding and deleting orphaned data) and deleting duplicate and unneeded data.
Komprise delivers enterprise IT teams rich visibility on their data so they can optimize storage for both cost savings and long-term business value. For instance, our customers’ R&D teams use Komprise to quickly identify data sets they want copied to cloud data lakes for analysis to support new research. Finding the right data sets to mine is the lion’s share of time spent on research; data scientists need to preserve their efforts on analysis and recommendations.
With AI programs often relying on diverse and unstructured data sources, effective governance is also paramount. Komprise addresses these needs in various ways. Komprise Smart Data Workflows allows IT users to create custom, automated processes to find, tag for context, and move distinct data sets to the cloud or other locations for use in AI applications or to segregate and prevent sensitive data sets from use in AI. Komprise can integrate these workflows with third-party AI tools to enrich the metadata to further classify data sets.
