The Rainin Fellowship celebrates Bay Area artists who are advancing the fields of dance, film, theater and public space with unrestricted grants of $100,000 plus tailored supplemental support. Rainin Fellows are central to their communities, helping define and preserve what makes Bay Area arts and culture unique.
We created a video series to raise the profile of the 2023 Fellows and elevate their work. A teaser announced the fellows and four subsequent videos highlighting each artist showcased their diverse and unique visions.
Through coordinated distribution efforts the videos have 73K views including 70K ThruPlays through Meta advertising, a 9% increase from our 2022 Rainin Fellowship campaign and a 32% increase from the inaugural Rainin Fellowship video series. We also saw success on Instagram. Our 2023 videos had a 378% increase in views from the 2022 videos and a 49% increase from the 2021 videos.
We were especially pleased to see engagement with this work on social media. In sharing the news, San Francisco Foundation said, “Congratulations to the 2023 #raininfellows and Kenneth Rainin Foundation for its commitment to supporting visionary Bay Area artists who are deeply committed to the region and whose practices influence and inspire others.”
