Nomination Category: Management Categories
Nomination Sub Category: Finance Executive of the Year

Nomination Title: Earl Fry, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Tell the story about what this nominee achieved since January 1 2008 (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

Informatica Chief Financial Officer Earl Fry was instrumental throughout 2008 in
propelling Informatica to its best financial performance ever despite the
economic headwinds faced by all companies around the world.

While macro conditions conspired to create the toughest year of Earl’s tenure as
CFO, end results demonstrate that 2008 was his best year. He was named CFO of
the Year for companies under $500 million by the San Francisco Business Times
and Informatica posted record results across a number of metrics, including the
17th quarter in a row of record non-GAAP operating income.

Under Earl’s financial stewardship, Informatica recorded 2008 revenue of $455.7
million, up 16% from the previous year, while non-GAAP operating margins jumped
by four percentage points to a record 29%. Overall, the company’s financial
performance during his tenure has been sterling.

Besides Finance and Investor Relations, Earl is also responsible for Legal,
Corporate Development, HR and IT. Earl has excelled here in pushing the
corporation into new growth areas while ensuring that everyone remains focused
on the bottom line. Annualized revenue per employee hit a record in Q4 2008,
closing the year at $307,000. The company also won a coveted Stevie Award for
Sales & Customer Service and was a finalist for Stevie’s Customer Service
Department of the Year.

Earl also took advantage of economic uncertainty to press ahead with multiple
acquisitions, overseeing the $85 million cash purchase of Identity Systems and
the $40 million cash purchase of Applimation, further solidifying Informatica’s
position as an adept and opportunistic company willing to take risks in order to
create new shareholder value.

Further, Earl Fry ushered in these acquisitions with a new M&A template his team
developed that cuts technical integration time from 4 months to 1 month, reduces
technical integration preparation time by 75%, and slashes error rates by 95%.

Even considering all of his Informatica commitments, Earl maintains active roles
as a board director of Xactly and Central Pacific Financial Corporation.
