    ONO PHARMA USA faced a unique challenge: How do you introduce a pharmaceutical giant, with roots stretching back 300 years to a small Japanese apothecary, to the modern U.S. healthcare scene? Despite its legacy and leadership in cancer therapy, ONO wasn't a household name in the U.S. It was time for a bold introduction, and that's where we stepped in.

    Fresh off setting up shop in Cambridge, Massachusetts, ONO set its sights on a digital transformation. The mission was clear: Give ONO's online presence a complete facelift, starting with its website. In 2023, our team at Current Global, together with our colleagues at Resolute, were brought on board to make it happen.

    The original website was a bit lost in translation, with awkward copy and visuals that didn't do justice to ONO's cutting-edge work. The color scheme needed a dash of freshness, and ONO's story and team deserved a bigger spotlight. Without a drug approved in the U.S. yet, our storytelling had to be spot-on.

    Here's how we brought ONO's digital persona to life:

    • We crafted a welcoming homepage with six vibrant sections to introduce ONO's world – from its pioneering research to its global aspirations.
    • The pipeline page got a revamp. No more static tables. Now, we grouped therapies by disease area with clickable "flyouts" for a deep dive into ONO's exciting advancements.
    • We introduced pages that celebrate ONO's heritage, with an interactive timeline, showcasing ONO’s innovative science, and spotlight the ONO team with real employee testimonials, supporting recruitment along the way.
    • We made sure the new copy sang with an American tune – informative, yet warm; professional, yet inviting. It's ONO's voice: accessible, assured, and innovation-forward.
    • The color scheme? We kept ONO's beloved blue and white but jazzed it up with more shades and a splash of mint green for a modern twist.

    We didn't just update a website; we reintroduced ONO to the U.S. with a platform as vibrant and promising as the future it's crafting.

    Results:

    ONO’s website's transformation isn't just a success story; it's a digital renaissance. Since its unveiling in December 2023, the numbers have been nothing short of a standing ovation. It's the blend of technical prowess, visual allure, and narrative finesse that turned a website into a window, where stakeholders and the curious public alike can peer into the heart of ONO's dedication to health and innovation. The results? A resounding digital applause, echoing across the metrics.
