Growing out of a sketch by CEO Desmond Wheatley 10 years ago, Beam Global’s EV ARC™ sustainable EV charging system is changing the national debate on how to build robust, secure, and 100% renewably powered infrastructure for an all-electric future. Each off-grid solar-powered EV ARC system generates and stores its own electricity and delivers it to up to 6 EV chargers at once so individuals, businesses and governments can Drive on Sunshine. These systems are rapidly deployed turnkey charging solutions that require no construction, no electrical work and no utility connection. Immune to grid outages, the on-board battery storage enables drivers to charge during the night, inclement weather and climate related disasters. Beam Global announced four historic orders for their EV ARC systems from government entities in November of 2022, including The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (140 units), The Department of Homeland Security (32 units), New York City (71 units) and TechFlow Inc., a company supporting technology purchases in government sectors such as the U.S. Army (367 units).
- Beam Global set a world record for the longest flight in a production electric aircraft powered only by off-grid renewable electricity. The 227 nautical mile flight across Central California proves that zero-emission aviation is here.
- Beam Global expanded to yet another all-electric industry segment, partnering with Volvo to package EV ARC units with Volvo CE’s advanced electric construction equipment.
- Beam achieved over 134% year-over-year growth in new orders and record backlog for its Made-in-America products.
- Beam’s most transformative move was its acquisition of Chicago-based AllCell Technologies, a technical leader in high-performance energy storage solutions. America’s stated goal is for half of all cars sold in the U.S. to be all-electric by 2030, even sooner for states like California Additionally, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will be allocating $7.5 billion to deploy 500,000 EV chargers, which will require a rapidly deployable and scalable EV charging infrastructure solution. With Beam’s fastest deployment of EV charging, drivers are able to charge their vehicles much sooner than if they chose another solution.
Beam’s EV ARC charging systems overcome the vulnerabilities of the U.S. electrical grid that are exposed by inclement weather events and foreign disruptions.
Beam Global stands apart from those in the EV charging industry in that it doesn't directly compete with big-name charging companies like ChargePoint or Blink, but rather, allows customers to pick the charger of their choice to be mounted on an EV ARC system.
The company’s newly integrated energy storage operations drive their objectives from a different angle. The acquisition improved Beam Global’s competitive advantage by lowering the COGS for EV ARC systems by 7%—significant when considering that batteries account for roughly 30% of the product’s bill of materials.
