2023 Stevie Winner Nomination Title: Anjuna
  1. Which will you submit for your nomination in this category, a video of up to five (5) minutes in length about the nominated new or new-version product or service, OR written answers to the questions for this category? (Choose one):
    Written answers to the questions
  2. If you are submitting a video of up to five (5) minutes in length, provide the URL of the nominated video here, OR attach it to your entry via the "Add Attachments, Videos, or Links to This Entry" link above, through which you may also upload a copy of your video.

  3. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this first question: If this is a brand-new product, state the date on which it was released. If this is a new version of an existing product, state the date on which the update was released:

On November 29th, 2021, Anjuna announced support for Kubernetes-managed applications on AWS with AWS Nitro Enclaves. Additionally, on February 15th, 2022, the company announced support for AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV). Support for these modern and widely used clouds and central processing units (CPUs) has made Anjuna’s confidential computing features even more widely available, allowing organizations to process workloads securely across multiple clouds.

  4. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this second question: Describe the features, functions, and benefits of the nominated product or service (up to 350 words):

    Total 345 words used.

Any organization that deals with sensitive data is challenged by the risk of data exposure and compromise. This risk only grows worse for companies using or moving to the cloud. While the cloud has fundamentally changed computing for the better, it still remains out of reach for many organizations in critical sectors—like financial services, healthcare, defense, and government—because of data security and privacy concerns. Cases of ransomware attacks, two-factor authentication breaches, exploited APIs, and malware are skyrocketing despite ever increasing spend on security tools. In the software-driven economy, data security has become a blocker to business innovation and growth.

Anjuna is empowering companies to finally be able to securely embrace the cloud. The company has created the first multi-cloud confidential computing software platform that provides complete data privacy and security. Anjuna leverages modern confidential computing hardware—the latest generation CPUs capable of encrypting data while in use—to protect data and code by isolating them from the infrastructure owner. Unlike other security solutions, confidential computing is rooted in chip hardware, which offers substantially higher levels of trust through in-use encryption and proof of data and code integrity. Before Anjuna, enterprises have had to re-architect their applications to reap the benefits of confidential computing, resulting in thousands of additional developer hours. Anjuna eliminates this heavy lifting with a platform that abstracts the underlying confidential CPU hardware and interfaces directly with customers’ applications at runtime. This provides complete protection of data and built-in code attestation without modification to the application. As a result, enterprises can safely run their application with complete data privacy and take direct control of the chain of trust of their software to verify it hasn't been tampered with.

Anjuna unlocks a completely new approach to cloud security infrastructure—one in which data and applications are intrinsically protected. Even in the event of a breach, data cannot be accessed or stolen, and code cannot be modified. Enterprises can now transition from viewing cloud security as an inhibitor, to utilizing it as an enabler for innovation. With Anjuna, enterprises can innovate freely, collaborate fearlessly, and build for tomorrow.

  5. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Outline the market performance, critical reception, and customer satisfaction with the product or service to date. State monetary or unit sales figures to date, if possible, and how they compare to expectations or past performance. Provide links to laudatory product or service reviews. Include some customer testimonials, if applicable (up to 350 words):

    Total 268 words used.

Anjuna enables customers across a wide range of industries—financial services, defense, blockchain, SaaS, and more—to fundamentally transform how they approach secure cloud computing. By democratizing confidential computing via an easy-to-use, scalable platform, Anjuna empowers data-driven enterprises to embrace the public cloud once and for all.

For example, the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD)—an organization respected for its reputation in security–selected Anjuna to move its data and apps to the public cloud for the first time. IMOD was hesitant about the move due to security concerns that, in the defense arena, are often high-stakes. However, the company still wanted to reap the benefits of cloud-based scalability. Anjuna enabled IMOD to move extremely large data loads to the cloud rapidly and with the guarantee that it would be protected by default.

Similarly, Fireblocks, one of the highest-valued digital asset infrastructure providers, selected Anjuna to ensure its blockchain technology would be protected from evolving security threats. Using Anjuna, Fireblocks was able to seamlessly expand its co-signer application capabilities to AWS and Azure, instead of manually building a pathway to IntelSGX, one of the few confidential clouds today. Anjuna made this a reality effectively overnight, saving Fireblocks over 5,000 hours of development time.

    Customer testimonial:

    • "With Anjuna Confidential Cloud software, we are able to leverage Confidential Computing to achieve public cloud scale, agility and economics and maximum data security immediately, without having to recode or refactor applications. This will allow us to quickly move important workloads across public clouds without compromising the high level of security necessary to achieve our mission." - Israel Ministry of Defense Infrastructure Cloud Group Leade
