AFIRE is the association for international real estate investors focused on commercial property in the United States. Since 1988, AFIRE has served as an essential forum for real estate investment thought leadership, focused on a mission of helping each other become Better Investors, Better Leaders, and Better Global Citizens.

As part of its thought leadership program, AFIRE developed Summit Journal in late 2019. The journal was introduced partly as a pandemic response and as means to expand the concept of “association-as-platform”—an extension of AFIRE’s directive to meet the multimedia dynamics of modern thought leadership.

Following considerable success of AFIRE's publishing program throughout 2020, including earning eight top awards, Summit used the ongoing pandemic in 2021 to completely revamp its publishing programs, administration, design, and multimedia publicity approach. By the end of 2021, Summit began implementing its revamped program, and into 2022 built its largest annual readership to date (10,000+) while reducing production costs, enhancing design quality, accepting sponsorship and licensing agreements worth more than $75,000, and instituting a professional editorial board now leading the association’s innovative “transparent peer review” process.
