Purpol Marketing is a specialist bid writing and marketing strategy agency where inclusion and diversity are central. Purpol holds an impressive 92+% win rate (industry average 40%) with £4bn opportunity secured.
Since July 2021 Purpol has won £400k grants for 2 charities and has an international profile showcasing effective marketing and branding. Their main charity support has enabled Cherishers 811 CIC who is a non-profit organisation that solely operates to provide sustainable employment and social care services to their community to survive the pandemic, by raising over £345k.
Cherishers employs disadvantaged and disabled individuals to provide domestic and commercial ironing and cleaning contracts and through profits generated provides free Social Care community services to the elderly and societies most vulnerable members. Covid shut down the ironing and cleaning yet the community had increasing demands – including for shopping, collection of prescriptions, and befriending phone calls.
Denise worked with Cherishers to apply for grants that enabled delivery of their services. Purpol refocused to provide grant writing support on a ‘no win no fee basis – Denise has won £345k+ grants since July 2021, giving Cherishers certainty and security. “When I was at a low point somebody was there to help me”.

Many businesses struggled during Covid-19 and the cost of living crisis, Purpol pivoted to provide grant writing support for Cherishers 811 CIC on a no win no fee basis so they could continue valuable work within the community.
These includes several crowdfunds which have been an entirely new experience for Cherishers but have galvanised their community to sponsor many initiatives including hosting a warm room during winter, lunch clubs, sport and art therapies, parties to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and latterly the Coronation of the King. All projects support the elderly and vulnerable to remove loneliness and isolation, promoting mental and emotional health and wellbeing.

- Warm bank for our cherished community
- Befriending sport & therapy for cherished elderly
- Supporting the elderly with financial wellbeing
- No-one should be alone, Helping combat isolation
- Employed 5 disadvantaged and disabled young people on placements
- Ran a warm room during Winter 2022-23 that invited the lonely twice a week to have lunch and stay warm
- Delivery sports therapy and art therapy classes free of charge
- Ensured 90+ people were not alone on Christmas day and provided a Christmas meal for the homeless, elderly and lonely people
- Cherishers have supported 1700 people and received over 1200 calls to their carer line requesting help. They collected shopping, made telephone calls and visited to provide company and reassurance.
Purpols thought leadership is instrumental to grant writing success.

Cherishers were self-funding prior to the pandemic, with the profits from ironing and cleaning being used for the community work. With the cost of living crisis demand increased hugely with care/befriending demand increasing 10-fold.
- 90% of management / leadership are female.
- 70% of staff are females who have been rehabilitated from abusive pasts
- 25% of leadership / senior management are BAME
- 80 of Cherishers clients are senior females who would be a risk of social isolation, digital poverty, low income.
Utilising Purpols expertise to raise over £345k since July 21 Cherishers continually make a difference in thousands of lives. “When I was at a low point in my life somebody was there to help me”.
During 2023 they acquired a new building and created an expanded room to seat 100 people for lunch club and many more for sports and arts therapy classes – previously numbers were limited between 15-20.
Cherishers have expanded into paid care provision, and whilst grants help provide additional support services they are not dependent on these.
