FiscalNote’s Professional Services team was launched to provide our clients with bespoke research and insights that complement FiscalNote products. Outline the organization's achievements since July 1 2019 that you wish to bring to the judges' attention (up to 250 words):

This year, as the world is wrangling the worst pandemic in 100 years and its impact on the global economy, FiscalNote’s Professional Services (PS) team responded with agility and innovation. Using our web scraping system for monitoring local policy, the team was able to capture 1,184 local ordinances relating to COVID across 1,300 cities and counties across America. This information reached 768 individuals across 192 unique organizations.

As states and the federal government considered overarching policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, local government bodies were making policy decisions about states of emergency, mask requirements, and business operations. Tracking these decisions complemented our coverage of the larger government response with detailed local coverage that allowed clients to understand the impact of the legislative response to the pandemic on all levels of their business. This provided our readers with clear and valuable information in the midst of chaos and uncertainty.

PS leveraged FiscalNote’s platform to provide summaries of 2,073 bills (1,603 state bills and 470 federal bills) over a 6-month period (March 10-July 13) to our customers. During those months, thousands of coronavirus relief bills with billions of dollars moved faster than ever through legislators across all 50 states, plus DC and U.S. Congress. PS went above and beyond to monitor, allowing our customers to see the velocity and movement of these bills, equipping them with the information required to focus their efforts on the bills that affected them the most during the crisis.

Arguably, a company’s resilience is tested during the most trying times. FiscalNote’s Professional Services team went above and beyond to deliver invaluable information to our customers during one of the most uncertain and confusing times in our recent history. Knowing that it was a very stressful time for all of our clients, FiscalNote’s Professional Services team provided COVID-19 coverage and alerts pro bono to our customers.

As Covid-19 spread, governors and public health officials published hundreds of school and restaurant closures, gathering bans, and stay at home orders. It was a never-before-seen torrent of new requirements and rules. FiscalNote’s Professional Services team consolidated all of these documents in an easy to find and filter page so our customers could quickly find and learn how they would impact their activities.

While other policy monitoring services provide legislative data, FiscalNote’s Professional Services team offers high quality human expertise in tandem with our legislative technology to support client needs. There is no one else in the market who combines local, state, federal, international data, or information services with technology with professional services, or combines the ability to manage stakeholders, to manage PACs, lobbying, and advocacy.
