The DHL Express Nigeria Sales Team story is a 360 degrees revival of the company’s sales and revenue growth for 2 consecutive years. It was quite a difficult challenge, at a time when Nigeria’s economy slipped into recession as a result of out dependency on Oil and Gas sector and the dip in price of international crudein 2015.
The country was officially declared out of recessionin July 2017, although the reality on groud was far from that. Through all of this, the Nigerian sales team rallied to produce a never-before-seen growth performance. For products like e-commerce, the revenue growth recorded year on year from 2017-2018 currently averages 790%. For ratial, our revenue has grown by 47% from 2017.

Having realized that the world is fast changing and that the way people buy and sell has moved from the physical markets to online market place, we launched the e-Commerce Service in Nigeria. The exponential growth experienced in Nigeria’s market is evident in our cross border partnership with Mall for Africa. Here African businesses can sell internationally in the United States and United Kingdom using eBay platform powered by MallforAfrica and delivered by DHL.
RETAIL EXPANSION PROGRAM
In order to increase the visibility of our brand and also to bring our services closer to our numerous customers, we engage in a monthly footprint expansion program by carrying out guerrilla marketing activations and road shows across the country. During this exercise we distribute and promote our product and service in partnership with our nearest retail partner’s outlet, to create top of mind awareness in the segment and location
CUSTOMER EVENTS AND SPONSORSHIPs
We communicate and synergize with customer Cocktail events in the 3 regions of Nigeria, Western region, Eastern Region and the Northern region. The events were used to appreciate our customers for their loyalty to DHL Express Nigeria even during the recession.
SMALL AND MEDIUM SCALE ENTREPRISE TRAINGING
As part of business development strategy for Small and Medium scale enterprise, we organized several Growing Beyond Borders training for SMEs. This program is focused on connecting SMEs across international frontiers by exposing them to vital cultural and market niche for their products and services. The impact of the project has recorded many success-stories for SMEs in Nigeria.
