    DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) is part of DHL Group with more than 31,000 freight forwarding experts in more than 150 countries worldwide.

    The benefits of international trade come at a high price. The constant flow of goods around the globe drives up greenhouse gas (GHG) levels and contributes to climate change. At DGF, we recognize that the transport sector plays a vital role in fighting global warming and accelerating sustainability across the logistics industry.

    International transport accounts for 14% of global carbon emissions. That figure could double by 2050 if demand for freight shipping continues to rise as expected and no action is taken.

    We understand that there’s no way around sustainable logistics and we are committed to help the world transition to the carbon-free future. But we do not just say we are ‘green’. We deliver.

    Our commitment to sustainable freight forwarding and aiding customers in their sustainability goals is at the forefront of our initiatives.

    To support these objectives, we introduced the Sustainability Sales Kit, which includes the Sustainability Guidebook and Brochure. The guidebook provides a detailed, step-by-step process for decarbonizing supply chains, addressing common challenges businesses face in reducing their carbon footprint. It offers a comprehensive yet accessible approach with checklists, enabling companies to implement effective carbon reduction strategies tailored to their unique needs. The brochure complements the guidebook by highlighting DGF's expertise and dedication. Both serve as an informative resources and persuasive tools sales teams, facilitating impactful discussions with customers about sustainable shipping solutions.

    Building on this foundation, we launched the DHL Logistics Decarbonization Assessment in April 2023. This tool assists sales in helping customers assess their transport decarbonization status and provides actionable insights. The assessment comprises 10 questions focused on decarbonization strategies and takes about five minutes to complete. Respondents receive a personalized PDF report detailing their results and sharing best practices from industry leaders.

    Initially exclusive to the DGF Sales, the tool has been utilized by 85% of the sales force. Recognizing its value, we made the tool publicly accessible in April 2024, enabling any company to benefit from it. Since then, over 1,500 businesses have used it to assess their sustainable logistics strategy, generating new contacts and leads for DGF.

    The DHL Logistics Decarbonization Assessment stands out for its holistic evaluation of a company's carbon reduction strategies. Unlike existing carbon footprint calculators, our tool assesses not only emissions but also strategy, transparency, and reduction levers. This comprehensive approach fills a critical gap in the market, as no other freight forwarder offers such a nuanced evaluation. The enthusiastic response from our global customer base and internal stakeholders underscores the tool's impact and relevance.

    Internally, the tool has garnered significant recognition, with our sales community praising its effectiveness in driving meaningful conversations and ultimately enhancing the sales pipeline.

    Through the Sustainability Sales Kit, we effectively engaged over 1,000 sales employees and thousands of customers worldwide, driving the adoption of sustainable practices and solidifying our position as a leader in sustainable forwarding. The kit successfully met our objectives by fostering awareness about sustainability, showcasing DGF's green solutions portfolio, and aligning them with customers' transport decarbonization strategies.

    Compared to other players in the industry, our achievements are unparalleled. No other freight forwarder provides such comprehensive and actionable tools for decarbonization.
