    Coming straight out of a US college, Wei decided to relocate back to China and accepted TransPerfect’s offer as an Account Manager in June 2013. She was also the second employee of TransPerfect’s Shanghai office. As an Account Manager, Wei focused on supporting the day-to-day activities for APAC life sciences strategic clients, achieved an average of 30% year-over-year growth, and was promoted to Account Executive in May 2016. Through her consistent proactive outreach and commitment to providing the highest level of service to her clients, Wei was quickly promoted to Director, Strategic Accounts (DSA) in June 2017. As a DSA, she increased Greater China revenue for key global CRO, pharmaceutical, and healthcare accounts by 400% over three years. She developed local business and marketing strategies, adapted TransPerfect solutions to meet unique needs in Greater China, and closed opportunities that will drive key growth for the company over the next five years. In September 2020, Wei transitioned to the role of Director, Business Development (DBD), shifting her focus to total-solution enterprise selling.

    Wei grew her book of business by $761,785 in 2024 (from $1,687,487 in 2023 to $2,449,272 in 2024), equivalent to a 45% YOY growth. Much of this increase is attributed to her focus on new service lines that had not been a major focus in APAC previously. A notable example is eClinical technology. In 2023, Wei strategically shifted her focus from selling TransPerfect’s core language services to promoting Trial Interactive (TI), TransPerfect’s proprietary eClinical solution. As the first person focusing on TI, Wei learned the solution independently, conducted over 30 demos with new clients in 2023, and successfully closed three new eTMF clients that year. Her momentum continued in 2024, with five additional eTMF clients secured. She has also built a pipeline of over $1 million for eClinical solutions, encompassing offerings such as eISF, remote monitoring, CTMS, LMS, and QMS. Beyond eClinical, Wei has also successfully cross-sold and upsold other TransPerfect solutions, including medical writing, linguistic validation, and media services, all of which contributed to her impressive 45% growth in 2024.

    Wei is the first person in TransPerfect APAC to focus on selling Trial Interactive (TI). While she received subject-matter-specific training from global colleagues, time zone differences often required her to independently handle client calls,meetings, and requests.

    In addition to mastering new knowledge, Wei developed a localized selling strategy,as TransPerfect’s previous success with TI was primarily in Europe and the US. Understanding that APAC markets are generally cost-sensitive, Wei conducted competitive insights analysis by researching key industry players and studying their pricing strategies. Based on this analysis, she created an APAC-specific pricing model for TI, tailoring the solution to better suit local market needs. This critical step directly contributed to her later closed opportunities.
