MARRIOTT AMONG BIG WINNERS IN
2006 SELLING POWER SALES EXCELLENCE AWARDS
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – December 5, 2006 – The world’s best sales people, departments, and executives were honored in the first annual Selling Power Sales Excellence Awards last night.
The new awards were jointly presented by Selling Power magazine, the leading sales management publication with 145,000 subscribers in 67 countries, and The Stevie® Awards, the world's premier business awards.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners were announced during a gala banquet at the Westin Casuarina Hotel, Spa & Casino in Las Vegas. More than 230 nominated sales executives from around the world attended.
Winners of multiple Stevie Awards include Marriott (three, including two for Marriott Vacation Club International and one for Marriott International), Careerbuilder.com, Direct Alliance Corporation, Sun Times Media Group, and Trane, a business of the American Standard Companies. More than 300 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories this year, including Best Run Sales Organization of the Year, National VP of Sales of the Year, and Sales Representative of the Year.
