    Judy Cheung-Wood, the founder of SkinB5, understands the physical and emotional scarring caused by acne, a condition affecting approximately 85% of people aged between 12 and 24 and a demoralising and embarrassing condition.
    Armed with personal experience and many conversations with other acne sufferers, Judy set out to innovate in this space, leaving her job to dive into researching the best ingredients to include in an acne skincare product.
    Her research uncovered numerous medical papers advocating the inclusion of vitamin B5 in skin care treatments to help acne from the inside out. Further research revealed there were ZERO acne skin care products on the market to help this affliction in this way.
    Using herself as the guinea pig, and her love of chemistry driven by her grandfather's legacy (he was a chemist and manufacturer of natural skincare products) she launched SkinB5 in 2006. The use of B5 is a science-based and innovative approach to treating acne holistically, without side effects.
    Many health professionals now trust SkinB5 as an alternative to prescription acne medication, because, unlike mainstream products, SkinB5’s patented vitamins address the underlying causes of acne, rather than just treating symptoms.

Customers call SkinB5 products ‘game changers’ not only because they heal the skin, but they also heal the crushing isolation acne sufferers often feel.
    Achievements:
    • Winning their first global beauty awards – Beauty Insider Singapore Best Acne Care, Best Skincare, both Editors’ and Readers’ choice, against over 700 global beauty brands.
    • Finalist in the Australian AusMumpreneur Awards in 2021.
    • Five products nominated for Wellbeing Magazine Be-You-T Awards
    • Trade partnerships formed globally and within Australia, expanding SkinB5’s channels into professional/clinician channels. 
    • Sold almost 100K units of high-value products in 2022 (equivalent retail sales value of about $3.5 million), up 231% from 2021

    Like many sufferers, she’d spent a fortune on over-the-counter creams that did nothing to fix the problem, aside from inflicting further damage to the skin. She realised many products take the wrong approach with acne treatments and that atopical treatments only reduce the symptoms, not the overarching problem internally.
    Integrative Treatment for Acne is used by pharmacists who want to treat acne with holistic technology. To get the SkinB5 product approved by the TGA in Australia, a highly technical document was submitted. The SkinB5 model is backed by training scientific professionals on how to integrate Vitamin B into the range and was developed with a strong science-led approach.
    With her innovative approach and the SkinB5 range of products, Judy has changed the perception of how to treat acne. Because health professionals have been told for decades that bacteria causes acne, even though it is only a symptom, it has taken a long time to persuade others that skinB5 holistic products deliver long-term results by assisting the body's natural ability to heal itself rather than fighting it with harsh chemicals.
