Judging & Award Process
Judging of entries is conducted in two phases: preliminary and final. Preliminary judging is conducted in September-October. Preliminary judges are recruited worldwide, apply to judge on the Stevie Awards for Women in Business web site, and if accepted are assigned categories by Stevie® Awards staff, based on their industry, function, and experience.
During preliminary judging, each entry is reviewed and rated by no fewer than five (5) judges. All entries are viewed and rated at the judges' convenience over the Internet. Rating is done on a scale of 1-10.
All entries that receive an average score of at least 7.0 in the preliminary round of judging, regardless of category, are automatically designated as Finalists, and are eligible for Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award status, to be determined in final judging.
In late October, members of the final judging committees perform the final judging, and their average scores determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements from among the Finalists. The Finalist entry in each category with the highest average score after final judging receives a Gold Stevie Award. Any Finalist entries with a final average score of at least 8.0 are designated as Silver Stevie winners, and receive a Silver Stevie medal. All other Finalists are designated as Bronze Stevie winners, and receive a Bronze Stevie medal. Silver and Bronze winners have the right to promote their Silver- and Bronze-winning Stevie status, and have the option to purchase their Silver and Bronze Stevie trophies.
The veracity of claims made in Finalist entries may be audited. Any entry found to contain false or misleading information will be disqualified. Gold Stevie-winning entries will be published on the Stevie Awards for Women in Business web site. Winners will have the opportunity to redact any confidential or non-public information from their entries before publication.
