By integrating planning and architecture, budgeting, design and construction in our full-cycle build process, we create exceptional value for clients through meticulous financial stewardship, on-time project delivery and unmatched home product quality. Put simply, our strategy is to build best-in-class, luxury custom homes and exclusive communities, on time and on budget. In its 13 years since inception, Rockwood has grown from a fledgling home builder to an industry leader with operations in two different geographic markets, an employee complement of 30+ team members/300+ contract tradespeople, and gross annual sales of $50M+. And while COVID negatively disrupted many construction companies, we acted quickly, taking necessary safety measures, instituting flexible work practices, and navigating supply chain pressures to ensure uninterrputed operations. Our sales pipeline remained strong—Rockwood is fully booked through Q3 2023; and we continued expansion into the Kelowna luxury leisure market while also laying groundwork for a luxury Canmore development. - Our strong relationships with trades and fervent adherence to stringent COVID protocols kept everyone working to schedule. We had zero incidences of COVID through 2020/2021 across our entire organization, nor did our office shut down for even a day. Our margins remained strong despite increased cost of materials, as we maintained tight delivery schedules and aptly managed potential supply chain disruptions. While some suppliers are charging 2X for product over last year; competitors are unable to secure labour or have significantly increased costs of labour; Rockwood has seen only 5% increase in construction costs.
- Added 3 FT staff to Kelowna location, local sales pipeline grew 100% YOY (and 600% in two years).
- In contract phase of new Canmore exclusive development, represents a new geographic area for Rockwood.
- Started McKinley Beach project – The Benches in greater Kelowna – and gained recognition as Top 5 custom home builders in that area. Currently 35% sold out prior to breaking ground.
- Won Deloitte Canada’s Best Managed Company 2020, 2021, 2022 – Rockwood’s 3rd Best Managed designation.
- Broke ground on first fully owned exclusive development, Abby Farm– Phase 1 construction underway with almost 50% sold of 24-luxury-home development.
- Handed over 18 luxury homes (+ one massive commercial development) in 2021 and 20 completions in 2022, hitting all project targets on time and budget.

- The winning of Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies in 2020, 2021, 2022 is an impressive feat as the multi-phase application process includes coaching, a 10,000+ word application, a thorough interview process and a detailed financial review by Deloitte. It is the third time that Rockwood has won the award that is only awarded to 50 Canadian companies annually. (In 2019, Rockwood placed as a regional finalist.)
- The breaking ground at Abby Farm is notable as it represents the first exclusive development where Rockwood is the underlying landowner. Prior exclusive developments were done in partnership with investors for the land portion of the projects.
- The launch of The Benches at McKinley Beach solidifies Rockwood’s presence in the Okanagan and the growth of the Kelowna area (60-70%) showcases the potential of that geographic area (new) vs. Calgary (5-8%).
- Rockwood’s Silvertip development in Canmore, where they will build both luxury custom homes and an exclusive villa community, continues their foray into the luxury leisure market, extending their reach into a new geographic area.
- During COVID, Rockwood impressed during the supply shortage leveraging purchasing power, finding new suppliers, negotiating new terms to ensure projects stayed on time and budget with 100% customer satisfaction. As at Y/E 2021, Rockwood maintained $40M in projects from 2020 showing resilience through COVID.
- Our sales pipeline remains strong and we are fully booked through to Q3 2023, with estimated gross revenue of $52M through 2022 for a 30% YOY growth and another 10-15% growth forecasted for 2023.
