Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated executive since the beginning of July last year (up to 500 words):

Linda is a member of P&G’s Global Leadership Council. Until July 1, 2012 she served as the Company’s Chief Diversity Officer (CDO), reporting directly to Bob McDonald (Chairman of the Board, President, and CEO). As CDO, Linda crafted the first companywide Diversity & Inclusion strategy, established P&G’s first Global Diversity & Inclusion Council, and led the development and launch of “flex@work,” an internal program that has made a meaningful impact to improve employees’ work-life effectiveness, and launched P&G’s first ever Diversity & Inclusion report. Under Linda’s leadership, P&G has raised the visibility of our D&I plans and accomplishments, internally and externally. This has led to P&G being recognized globally as a top company for diversity:

In addition to serving as CDO, Linda is also Senior Vice President of P&G’s Global Business Services (GBS) organization (reporting to Filippo Passerini, Group President of Global Business Services and Chief Information Officer). In this role, Linda oversees GBS services to P&G’s largest internal organizations, ensuring full leverage of emerging business technologies to support and speed P&G’s innovation and product supply efforts. She is also responsible for designing and maintaining a best-in-class employee and workplace experience, aimed to help P&G people work simpler, faster and with greater agility.

During the past year, Linda led a transformational effort to revolutionize employees’ productivity and digital skills. Software upgrades and trainings were rolled out to approximately 60,000 employees through more than 120 events held at P&G sites worldwide. Linda also leads the Flow-to-the-Work organization, designed to quickly flow resources to P&G’s most important business priorities.

In 2012 Linda was named one of Working Mother Magazine’s “Working Mother of the Year,” She was also recognized as a YWCA Career Woman of Achievement, named recipient of the First Tees Values Award and honored with the Diamond Leadership Award from the IT Senior Management Forum. She has been listed among Uptown Professional’s Top 100 Executives and Black Enterprise magazine’s Top Executives.

Provide a brief biography of the nominated executive (up to 100 words):

Linda joined P&G in 1983 as a systems analyst, going on to become a global “executive of firsts.” She is the first African-American senior vice president in the IT function and the first female African-American senior vice president within P&G. She led the first vision and strategy for P&G’s e-mail system, led the partnership with HP to provide core IT services, and spearheaded delivery of broad business and employee services to Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Linda holds a degree in industrial management and computer science from Purdue University. She serves on the Board of Directors for Cincinnati Financial Corporation and YWCA of Greater Cincinnati.
