Nomination Title: Megan Driscoll, Founder and President

Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated entrepreneur since the beginning of July last year (up to 525 words):

Megan Driscoll, a 2013 Silver Stevie Award recipient, founded PharmaLogics Recruiting in 2003. PharmaLogics started out as a traditional contingency recruiting firm in the life science industry. Megan felt discouraged during the 2008 recession due to the conditions under which the recruiters had to work —fees were high and true partnerships between recruiting firms and HR were lacking. In 2009, Megan dropped the contingency approach to develop a low cost recruiting model, kicking off the next phase of success for PharmaLogics. This innovative approach allowed PharmaLogics to work as an extension of the client’s HR on a fee based model for the actual time it takes to make a placement. This new business model has contributed significantly to PharmaLogics’ success and ability to recruit qualified talent in the life science industry.

Since 2009, PharmaLogics has experienced incredible growth in size and revenue. The company expanded from a small office with a handful of employees to a 60 person operation with a US headquarters in Massachusetts and an International headquarters in Switzerland.

PharmaLogics’ remarkable 193 percent revenue growth from 2010 to 2013 placed us on the 2014 Inc.5000 list of the nation’s fastest growing private companies. This year, PharmaLogics emerges as the Inc.5000’s Honoree for earning a spot on this list for the second year in a row. Megan has become one of only a few female CEOs to make it on to this prestigious list.

In March 2015, Megan led her company to win the bid for a 300+ job build-out for one of the top pharmaceutical companies in the world. Since launch, PharmaLogics has filled 160 positions for this client within five months. It is without a doubt Megan’s leadership that has pushed PharmaLogics to make a striking turn-around and win acclaim from clients world-wide.

In addition to being the driving force of her company’s success, Megan is also an advocate for gender equality in the workplace. In 2013, women held about 52 percent of all professional level jobs, but only made up 14.6 percent of Fortune 500 executive officers, 8.1 percent of top earners, and 4.6 percent of Fortune 500 CEOs. Motivated by these statistics, and by the fact that Megan is one of the 14 percent female CEOs on the 2014 Inc. 5000 list, Megan changed the company’s marketing initiatives towards a more meaningful message. She launched a social media movement, #DoIt4YourDaughtersto open the discussion on and bring awareness to gender equality in the workplace.

Megan has appeared on Yahoo News and Huff Post to speak about her story with the hope to inspire and encourage women and men in leadership roles to support gender equality in the workplace. Starting with her own company, PharmaLogics is proud to have more than 50 percent females in leadership positions.

Thanks to Megan’s tenacity, PharmaLogics made a dramatic recovery from the recession and came out on top. We are still growing and making strides to place top talent at companies devoted to the development of medicine that improves and saves lives. We are confident that under Megan’s guidance, PharmaLogics is not far from reaching this goal and will continue to innovate in the recruiting industry.
