Nomination Title: Tammy Hammond, Senior Vice President, Global Product Management

Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated executive since the beginning of July last year (up to 500 words):

As Senior Vice President, Global Product Management at PGi, Tammy Hammond has been at the forefront of the transformation of PGi from a pure play audio conferencing company into a communications and collaboration Software as a Service (SaaS) organisation. Tammy’s role has been to define the product vision and the roadmap and then bring this into reality. With Tammy’s energy and determination, PGi has become a company that enables businesses to drive productivity and improve collaboration with richer, higher value online meeting solutions with the launch of web and video conferencing solutions, iMeet and GlobalMeet.

The past year has seen great change and tremendous success for PGi. Tammy’s Product Management leadership was critical during the past 12 months when PGi rolled out and supported two new web-based video conferencing solutions, iMeet and GlobalMeet. iMeet was developed to connect people and ideas while increasing meeting efficiency and productivity, enabling up to 15 people to meet face-to-face online – anytime, anywhere – from their desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile device. GlobalMeet is a must-have in any company’s repertoire, integrating web and audio conferencing into one solution to deliver simple, cost-effective meetings for distributed teams of up to 125. While many online meeting products appear to be designed for the benefit of software engineers, iMeet and GlobalMeet were designed with a user-friendly interface that puts people (not technology) at the center of meetings.

Since their launches in 2011 and subsequent roll-out to international markets, iMeet and GlobalMeet have gained significant attention, from technology writers, early adopters and analysts. Recently, PGi was honored to learn that the company moved into the “Visionaries” quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Web Conferencing. And, PGi was recognized with Frost & Sullivan’s 2011 Product Line Strategy of the Year Award for the leadership team’s vision and innovation with its first party products, iMeet and GlobalMeet.

In the past year Tammy has focused her trademark enthusiasm and persistence on establishing these new products within PGi (and then launching internationally) by creating go-to-market processes, building new teams to execute on pricing, packaging and positioning and initiating software development methodology.

Part of Tammy’s success has been her ability to build great teams and motivate them to execute on the company vision. With the help of her dedicated teams Tammy was able to roll-out PGi’s first ever truly global product deployment into the international market.

In one year, PGi generated trials, early implementations and sales to more than 1,000 enterprise customers, including some of the world’s leading companies. More than 70,000 people have joined the iMeet community and over 35,000 individuals are hosting better, more productive meetings worldwide with iMeet and GlobalMeet.

These achievements, stemming from Tammy’s leadership, have helped make the past year an outstanding one for PGi, growing the company’s product software revenue by 400%. And, also highlights her involvement in the shift in direction towards a SaaS future.
