    In 2021, despite the country still experiencing the challenges of the global pandemic, she led Pag-IBIG Fund’s Home Lending Operations in achieving P100.8 billion in housing loan releases – the first time for Pag-IBIG to surpass the 100-billion-peso level. She again led Pag-IBIG Fund to surpass this record when the agency released nearly P118 billion in housing loans in 2022. In the same year, Pag-IBIG also collected nearly P80 billion in members’ savings - its highest amount collected in a single year, performing Pag-IBIG Fund’s twin mandate of providing affordable shelter financing and secured savings for Filipino workers.

    Her leadership empowered around 100,000 members to achieve their dreams of owning a home or to improve the homes they currently own.

    Most importantly, CEO Acosta’s reforms for loan payment collections allow the agency to maintain a strong cash position, finance the loans of members, and maintain the low interest rates of its loans. Total loan payments from July 2022 to May 2023 amounted to P123.66 billion, consisting of Short-Term Loan payments worth P55.56 billion and Housing Loan payments amounting to P68.10 billion.

Her work speaks for itself, the efficient service that Pag-IBIG Fund continuously gives its members is a product of the reforms and programs that CEO Acosta has pioneered through her stay in the company.

    Her groundbreaking accomplishments in helping Pag-IBIG Fund provide its members with low-cost housing and low interest rates with housing loans has cemented Pag-IBIG Fund’s reliability as a government agency and as the Filipino worker’s partner in achieve our shared dream of homeownership.

    Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Ms. Marilene C. Acosta began her career in Pag-IBIG Fund more than forty years ago as an Accounting Clerk in one of Pag-IBIG Fund’s Regional Offices. She rose from the ranks and has served as Manager of a Pag-IBIG Fund’s Regional Office, then as Vice President of its North and South Luzon Groups, and as a Senior Vice President for Home Lending Operations. Prior to being appointed to Pag-IBIG Fund’s top post, she was Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Home Lending Operations.

    During her tenure as Pag-IBIG Fund Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Home Lending from March 15, 2017 to September 18, 2022, Pag-IBIG posted consistent record-highs in the housing loan front. Over this span of time, Pag-IBIG Fund released a record-high P388.13 billion in housing loans, which benefitted 448,110 Filipino workers who now have homes of their own.

    Peers fondly call her "Manang", a local endearment for a respected elder sister, due to her wisdom and innate concern for others. She is not only an esteemed certified public accountant, but also a Career Executive Service Officer, and a mentor to almost 10,000 employees of Pag-IBIG Fund all over the Philippines.

    Under CEO Acosta’s leadership, Pag-IBIG Fund has grown as the single largest source of home financing in the Philippines, with 38% of the total home mortgages in the country as of 2021 as compared to top commercial banks, and other government financial institutions. It recorded P827.40 billion in total assets and over 15.46 million active members in its fold. Since its inception, Pag-IBIG Fund has been able to help 1,648,896 borrowers fulfill their dreams of owning a home by releasing a total of P1.065 trillion in its housing loans.

    For her outstanding work as an Executive of Pag-IBIG Fund, she was recognized by the Asia CEO Awards in 2020, becoming a SHEro of the Year – Circle of Excellence Awardee. She, together with the Pag-IBIG Fund Senior Management recently received the Asia CEO Award 2022 Circle of Excellence Awardee – Executive Leadership Team of the Year. She is also one of only 100 notable Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in the country awarded by national accountancy associations led by the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy with the Accountancy Centenary Award of Excellence.

    And finally, CEO Acosta helped Pag-IBIG Fund to achieve the Philippine Commission on Audit’s highest audit rating on the presentation of its financial statements for the 11th consecutive year, for fiscal year 2022.
