Describe for the judges the nominated individual's activities and accomplishments that supported women in business since the beginning of July last year (up to 525 words):

Neena Newberry is passionate about helping women realize their potential and improving her community. Since July 2013, she launched a book that is getting rave reviews and was even written up by Colleen Barrett (President Emeritus of Southwest Airlines), developed 8 new leadership products for women, has been in the media over 20 times, grew her business by 33% (continuing a track record of double and triple digit growth each year since 2009), almost tripled her online reach from 500,000 to 1.4 million – all while investing 12-20 hours per month for volunteer leadership roles in nonprofit organizations and adding less than 0.5 FTE. Over 50% of her clients get promoted.

A sought-out expert in her field, Neena often shares her insight and practical leadership strategies pro bono.

• This year alone, Fox News, CBS, and ESPN interviewed her 20 times and 3 publications and 2 national blogs featured her articles.

• In 2012, Neena accepted an invitation to work with the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Women’s Initiative Fellowship Program (WIFP) spearheaded by Laura Bush, as they designed a pilot program to empower women to catalyze change around the world.

In 2014, as the Program launches into its third year of success, Neena continues to help refine it and teach valuable leadership and networking skills to Fellows from Egypt and Tunisia, and now also serves as a mentor to one of the Fellows. Because of her WIFP work she was invited in 2014 to teach in the Bush Liberty & Leadership Program, to help advocates of democracy in Burma, many former political prisoners

• The DFW World Affairs Council and the US Secretary of State’s office sought Neena out twice to meet with delegations of women from the Republic of Georgia and Slovakia, eager to build their leadership skills. Neena invested hours with each as recent as February 2014, giving them leadership advice, tools, and her book.

• In February 2014, Neena facilitated a strategy session to help Pantheon of Women, a startup organization focused on creating films produced by and featuring women, to improve how women are portrayed in the media. This work was critical to helping them complete their first film.

In 2014, Neena donated over 1,700 copies of her new book Show Up. Step Up. Step Out. She also authored a chapter in the MBA Women’s Guide to Success, a book focused on providing invaluable advice to aspiring women; 100% of the proceeds continue to be donated to a women’s mentoring program. Neena publishes weekly articles that reach over 1.4 million people, packed with leadership tips for women

Neena’s contributions and passion have been recognized by others:

• United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) recognized Neena’s work to improve public policy impacting education, health, and poverty with the 2014 Advocate Volunteer Award.
• The International Coach Federation – North Texas awarded Neena the Prism Award in 2013 and 2014 for work with organizations to help them drive results through coaching.
• In June 2014, PwC nominated her for the ATHENA Award for community and professional work that helps others succeed and builds a strong foundation for those around her (results TBA in October).

Neena Newberry launched Newberry Executive Solutions to focus on her passion for developing strong women leaders. She left a successful 16-year consulting and HR career, and a role on Deloitte’s U.S. HR Executive Team right before the economy tanked in 2008. A former executive grounded in 20+ years of business experience, Neena gets rave reviews from Fortune 500 clients. She authored Show Up. Step Up. Step Out., a chapter in the MBA Women’s Guide to Success, hundreds of articles for women, and the WOW! Women On the Way to Peak Performance ProgramSM. Neena has been in the media over 20 times in 2014, teaches in Executive Education at the SMU Cox School of Business, is a community leader and has an MBA, PHR and PCC.
