Being a truly global leader means living in and understanding other cultures. Tamila said “yes” to big geographic moves early in her career: her cultural map encompasses Europe, Africa, some parts of the Middle East, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region. She later focused on understanding similarities and differences of countries and dynamics across the European market. This global perspective is indispensable in her current role.
She believes that diversity in age and background is important across leadership. “Direct selling is a female-dominated industry and I’ve never regretted it,” say Tamila. It’s all about collaborating with and meeting inspiring women, who may be similar or different from me, and I absolutely love it!”
In the direct selling channel, corporate executives are very close to their distributors and customers.” It is so easy for them to give us their feedback. In my role, its critical to be open, ready to take the good and negative feedback and act decisively,” says Tamila. “I quickly realized when I joined this industry that you must plan, but you also must always be ready to change and adjust. Successful feedback loops with leaders in the field are always driving factors behind building trust and success for all.”
