Nomination Title: Erin Bolton, VP of Digital Solutions

Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated executive since the beginning of July last year (up to 525 words): TEXT REDACTED FOR PUBLICATION

As the VP of Digital Solutions at MarketStar, Erin identifies, develops and deploys new demand generation services for the entire organization and supports all new business efforts leveraging those solutions.

In the first quarter of 2014, Erin developed a demand generation portfolio that included five new services based on digital media and content. This new portfolio has allowed the sales team to deepen relationships and increase sales with new and existing customers directly impacting MarketStar’s 2014 revenue.

As MarketStar’s clients add these services, they are seeing impressive results. A recent program with an F500 enterprise security company achieved 115% of its demand generation lead goal. Thanks to the strength of the program, Erin and her team secured a larger contract and will extend the program..

As a natural leader and mentor, Erin saw an opportunity to create a mentoring program for MarketStar’s female employees. Currently, 20% of MarketStar’s managers, directors, and VP’s are women and the company is committed to empowering those women, recruiting more, and moving them into leadership positions. Erin created a strong mentoring program that gives female employees the opportunity to work with mentors to strengthen personal and professional skills, increase business performance, and advance their careers within MarketStar. The program launched last month and already has 30 executive mentors signed up and 100 female mentees, exceeding its first year goal.

Erin brings her passion for mentoring and advancing women in business to professional organizations as well. Erin is on the Advisory Board for the Women Tech Council (WTC) of Utah and serves as the liaison to MarketStar. In this role she has been able to improve participation by MarketStar women in WTC events and raise awareness of the value women bring to technology. In March, the WTC requested Erin give a keynote address on mentoring to the entire WTC organization.

Erin is also a member of InfoComm, the largest professional audio visual association with 70,000 members. Erin also serves on their Leadership Search Committee. She was elected to a three-year term to help identify, recruit, and mentor volunteer leaders.

In an industry that is 92% male, bringing visibility to women is difficult but critical. This year Erin successfully persuaded InfoComm to create the Women of InfoComm Council (WIC) and will chair the Council for two years. WIC launched with 25 members (men and women) and will reach 100 by the end to the year. InfoComm leadership has taken a special interest in WIC, realizing that under Erin’s leadership it can help get more women involved, increase membership, and create more events and opportunity for women.

Erin has been recognized with 13 national awards in technology leadership and marketing achievement including the Stevie’s Management Team of the Year and Best Female Executive in Marketing, InfoComm’s Woman of AV, SCN’s Titans of AV, and WTC’s Women Tech Award amongst others. Erin is a known expert on demand gen, marketing to IT, and mentoring and often speaks and writes on these topics. She is frequently published in System Contractor News SCN and other technology and AV publications.
