Welcome to the January issue of The Stevie Awards newsletter. We wish you a Happy New Year!

American Business Awards Entry Deadline Is January 21

The entry deadline for the 3rd annual American Business Awards is just 9 days away. All American companies, including the U.S.-based operations of foreign companies, are eligible to enter. You may retrieve a Nomination Kit by going here on the ABA web site.

Most entrants find it convenient to submit their nominations directly through the ABA web site, which we encourage you to do. Entrants may submit any number of nominations to any number of categories. There are dozens of categories to choose from.

Tip: If you don't have time to write the essays that are required for nominations in many categories, enter your company's advertising or other media work instead. There are many categories in the Advertising & Corporate Media section of the ABAs for ad campaigns, corporate web sites, annual reports, corporate videos, interactive multimedia, and more. It takes just a few minutes to prepare and submit nominations in these categories.

International Business Awards Brochure Has Been Remailed

As reported in last month's issue of the Stevie Awards Update, the Call for Nominations brochure for The 2005 International Business Awards was remailed during the last week of December to more than 28,000 executives worldwide.

The new entry deadline for the 2nd annual IBAs is February 25. All companies worldwide are eligible to submit entries, including American companies that generate at least 10% of their sales outside the U.S.A. Last year, International Stevie Awards were conferred upon companies and individuals from 19 countries.

You may go here on the IBA web site to download a copy of the 2005 nomination kit.

Preliminary Judging Applications for 2005 Stevie Awards Now Being Accepted

You may now apply to be a preliminary-round judge in The 2005 International Business Awards and/or The 2005 American Business Awards.

If your application is accepted you will be assigned categories based on your experience, industry, and function. (You will not be permitted to judge categories to which your own company has submitted nominations.) You will be able to judge as many nominations as you would like, at your convenience, over the Internet.

Whether you can allot just a few minutes or a few hours to judging, participation is a great way to learn how other companies are achieving success, and how other entrants have prepared their nominations. The two preliminary judges in both the IBAs and the ABAs who score the most nominations will each be offered two free tickets to the respective awards gala.
