The path that Tiffany Stuart traveled to become a successful business owner is not the most conventional. She attended high school in France and decided to forgo college. An idealist, visionary and go-getter, she followed her dreams and made her own way. Never losing sight of where she’s been, Tiffany is mindful of the myriad paths that lead to success, and hopes her personal achievements and unique story will galvanize others aspiring to become successful business owners regardless of their background.

Dedicated to inspiring women who do things their own way, Tiffany accepted a position on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Initiative for Self-Employment in 2011, shortly after the Bay Area nonprofit named her its Woman Entrepreneur of the Year. Women’s Initiative provides training, funding and ongoing support to low-income women so they can start their own businesses and become economically self-sufficient. Those who go through the Women’s Initiative program not only significantly increase their income and assets, but also launch businesses, create jobs and stimulate the local economy.

As a member of the Women’s Initiative Board of Directors, Tiffany is involved in continuous efforts to transform communities through job creation and economic revitalization. She also delivered an inspirational speech to the 2011 Women’s Initiative program grads during which she challenged each woman to never apologize for her unique journey, but to be proud of how far she’s come and the experience she gained along the way. Tiffany also emphasized how every person they meet is a potential customer and encouraged the graduates to cultivate relationships and act with integrity at every turn.

Throughout her career, Tiffany has worked to improve the lives of women and children through her professional and volunteer work. Having been personally touched hearing stories of domestic violence and child abuse on a local level, Tiffany has made women and children a large part of her philanthropic efforts.

In 2012, Tiffany made a substantial donation to STAND! For Families Free of Violence. STAND! For Families Free of Violence is a Bay Area nonprofit committed to promoting safe and strong families. The nonprofit’s approach to eliminating family violence is well rounded and community-wide. In addition to providing a complete spectrum of prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, it also enlists the efforts of local residents, partners, and institutions, all of whom are striving to stop domestic violence and child abuse.

By getting involved with STAND! For Families Free of Violence, Tiffany is helping to combat state budget cuts, which crippled funding to programs serving children and families. According to STAND! CEO Gloria Sandoval, “Cuts to foster care support, parenting programs, and treatment for at-risk children threaten services that are critical to our clients’ well-being. We serve the families of more than 500 children in foster care with their grandparents and other family members whose lives are directly affected by these cuts. Fewer county social workers means more abused, neglected, and at-risk kids fall through the cracks, and more pressure on private agencies like STAND!”
