    Annabelle Gibson, Esq., and Director, Domestic Tax Analysis and Content at Bloomberg Tax & Accounting, is a top influencer in the tax, accounting and finance industry. Thousands of companies depend on Bloomberg Tax’s research products, much of which is driven by Annabelle and her team, to move their businesses (and therefore the global economy) forward. In her position, Annabelle is responsible for developing and maintaining analysis and content related to federal and state tax law issues. Prior to this role, she was Director of International Tax at Bloomberg Tax & Accounting, responsible for developing and maintaining content and news related to international tax issues. Career highlights include:

    • 2019 CPA Practice Advisor 40 Under 40.
    • Bloomberg Tax Award of Excellence in 2016 for superior leadership and management skills.
    • Creator of the new Bloomberg Tax Regulatory Guidance reports. This new product provides clients with quick tax compliance roadmaps immediately following availability of IRS guidance and has been critical in helping leading companies stay ahead of tax reform.
    • In response to changes following TCJA tax reform, Annabelle’s team was the first to release an updated tax inflation projection report to help companies accurately forecast budgets and tax planning.

    Dedicated to continual improvement, Annabelle’s recent achievements include:

    • Leading the expansion of Bloomberg Tax analysis to cover over 100 international jurisdictions, doubling the volume of information available on the research platform
    • Leading creation of a dedicated portion of Bloomberg Tax for analysis of OECD Pillar One and Pillar Two global tax reform
    • Leading development of a tool to calculate the impact for multinational entities of the GloBE rules under OECD Pillar Two  
    • Leading creation of special “Watch” pages to monitor high-interest topics in federal and state tax, including energy tax credits and elective taxes on pass-through entities
    • Leading development of special analysis on key topics, including changes to research and development rules beginning in 2022  
    • Leading efforts to redevelop tools and related analysis on state tax nexus rules

    Despite her busy schedule, Annabelle still finds time to give back to the community. She regularly participates in Bloomberg Tax’s philanthropy programs. Most recently, she helped with donation projects to Martha’s Table, a local food panty, and N Street Village, a non-profit supporting women experiencing homelessness in Washington, D.C. She also participates in resume and interview workshops for interns seeking coaching and mentoring to help them fulfill their aspirations to go to college and pursue their dreams to become business professionals.

    Annabelle has managed dozens of employees and contractors chartered with tracking, researching and analyzing upwards of 5,000 tax developments a year across the US and other countries; hundreds of tax management Portfolios; and most recently, helping economic business powerhouses stay ahead of global tax reforms in the US and elsewhere.

    Under Annabelle’s leadership, her teams have been key driving forces in the accurate creation of constantly changing tax information that fuels Bloomberg Tax’s core research products – from federal and state excise taxes to federal tax provisions to international tax analysis. Thousands of companies depend on Bloomberg Tax’s research products to move their businesses (and therefore the global economy) forward.
