Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated company during the eligibility period (up to 500 words):

Anderson Performance Improvement Company (APIC) is a provider of award winning, behavior-based rewards and recognition systems. Our goal is to motivate people resulting in increased retention, morale, productivity, and engagement throughout organizations and industries alike – including our own. Over the years, our employees have had the opportunity to participant in our company-sponsored recognition and incentive programs - we are proud to practice what we preach.

“Leveraging Excellence” is our internal program which focuses on—and rewards— operational excellence. It motivates employees to change key behaviors which leads to increased knowledge, improved performance, and greater job satisfaction. The program’s success has had a positive impact on APIC customers - Anderson Performance Improvement has been able to deliver faster and with higher quality. Each participant is given an online account where E-Points are accumulated and can be redeemed in a catalog with over 4,500 items.

Our employees and managers are armed with the tools to recognize others on the spot with our On-the-Spot Recognition Cards. These cards recognize the right behaviors, right when they occur. This tool is truly on-the-spot recognition; no approval is needed, and managers enjoy seeing the reaction of on-the-spot recognition. These cards are redeemed through the online platform.

At APIC, we also offer our employees a health and wellness program, “Move It.” This program focuses on increasing physical activity and increasing knowledge on various health topics. A healthy employee is a productive employee! Each day, a participant is presented with a Challenge-of-the-Day – a short informational article about a health-related topic. Once the article is read, the participant is asked to rate it, mark it read, and add a comment. Each of these steps will earn the participant points.

Each participant is given an electronic pedometer to wear every day, all the time. Whether you are going to the gym, at work, or just doing your daily chores – employees are urged to wear their pedometers. Participants can earn a tiered amount of points depending on the activity level. Employees can also challenge and reward others for demonstrating healthy behaviors.

As a passionate company about giving back to our community and world, we are always looking for meaningful ways to support socially responsible organizations and the individuals they benefit. We devote many hours throughout the year to helping others in need.

This past holiday, we gathered as a group and created jewelry for women living in the Robert Lewis House in Minnesota. The Lewis House is a 24-hour shelter for women and children who are experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and neglect.

We also made warm mittens and scarves, a necessity for cold Minnesota winters. The mittens and scarves are donated to Hastings Family Services, a non-profit, community-supported agency providing assistance and support to our community.

Employees are given the opportunity to wear casual clothing, job share, and have flexible schedules. Our philosophy is if our employees are comfortable and happy, they will be working at top efficiency.
