Michele Demers has 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur and business executive. She is the Founder and CEO of Boundless Impact Research & Analytics, an environmental research and analytics firm that provides rigorous and actionable analysis to move investment dollars more quickly toward clean technologies and companies driving positive environmental change. The Boundless method uses a science-based, data-driven approach, grounded in the proven methodology of Life Cycle Assessment, and serves a growing universe of investors, companies, and funds. Before creating Boundless, Michele held senior positions at Foundation Source and Humanity United. She has been involved in the successful development of more than two-dozen startups and is regularly called upon for her innovative thinking about environmental impact measurement. With a passion for creatively advancing solutions to climate change and a keen eye for business, Michele continues to pave the way for other women leaders in a traditionally male-dominated sector.

Under Michele’s unwavering leadership, between 2022 and 2024, Boundless successfully developed a suite of proprietary tools to evaluate the integrity of environmental and cost claims and rank the decarbonization potential of various industries, which takes costs and carbon reduction into account. The exclusive tools utilize the rigorous scientific methodologies of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA). As a result, Boundless has established partnerships with investors and institutions to help them effectively allocate funds to companies and technologies with verified and scalable solutions to mitigate and successfully adapt to climate change.
One of the partnerships is the Department of Energy’s Energywerx program. Boundless measured the environmental impact of 20 innovative cleantech companies across 9 industries, from performing ISO-compliant Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to its own unique Baseline LCA.
Boundless is also partnering with XPRIZE to evaluate the climate impact and perform cost analysis of the 20 finalists in the $100 million XPRIZE Carbon Removal (CDR) competition. This collaboration aims to identify the most promising and scalable CDR solutions with a global impact.

Boundless has created a unique, proprietary method for conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Techno-Economic Assessments (TEA) that adhere to international standards (ISO) while also providing cleantech companies with valuable tools to differentiate their product and scale more quickly. This methodology simplifies and translates complex information into actionable data for companies, investors, and institutional leadership teams. Moreover, it achieves this at much less cost and time typically required for ISO-standard LCAs, utilizing objective, verifiable data and analytics. The results are then compared across industry benchmarks developed by the Boundless team for each industry.
Boundless is known for its exceptional environmental impact analysis, which is highly respected and used widely by cleantech investors and companies alike. For instance, Boundless received the most awards among all companies during the latest round of DOE’s Energywerx Voucher Program.
