Having accomplished a massive turnaround in Canada, Manon joined Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) in July 2021 and began serving as EVP and CEO in January 2022. In the year since she joined, Manon has been on a mission to revitalize one of the most established telecoms in North America. Manon has developed a 5-Point plan to expand the company’s footprint from being a telecom-only provider to a technology contender. The multi-part strategy encompasses everything from revitalizing the look and feel of in-store customer experiences to focusing on retaining Verizon’s fanatically loyal customer base with value-add partnerships and promotions and customer-first policies.
Under Manon’s leadership, VCG launched 5G home internet earlier this year, and is raising the bar with ambitious plans to become the largest broadband provider in the country by reinventing and disrupting an industry previously monopolized by cable companies. In March, she also introduced +Play, a new streaming aggregation platform that consolidates access to Netflix and other services to provide an easier way for consumers to manage subscriptions across any and all devices.

If you’ve never heard of Manon Brouillette, it’s because she’s one of the most understated yet impactful CEOs in telecom known for walking softly and carrying a big stick. Over the decades, she’s operated in the background, earning a reputation as a telecom turnaround queen by never taking market leadership for granted & injecting a challenger brand mentality into what some might call a commoditized industry. Her hunger, the kind typically reserved for Silicon Valley startups, is what led to Manon’s proven success revitalizing brands, jumpstarting sales and reinventing the status quo. In an industry plagued by razor thin margins and cutthroat promotions, her accomplishments have been no small task.
From 2004 to 2019, Manon spent 15 years at Canadian telecommunications company, Vidéotron, instituting programs that brought the 40-year-old company out of the 60s into the 21st century. As President and CEO, she overhauled Videotron from the inside out, earning them the title of most admired telecom in Canada and fastest-growing carrier following the launch of its wireless services in 2010. As part of the transformation, Manon led the creation of Fizz, a sub-brand of Vidéotron and the first fully digital mobile and Internet provider in the region.
- Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the nominee's past performance (up to 250 words):

Verizon is the largest wireless carrier in the U.S., with nearly 143 million subscribers. As CEO & EVP, overseeing a group this size is an operational + managerial challenge Manon is prepared for given her decades of experience working across established brands and startups. While others in the telecom industry focus on becoming #1, VCG has the monumental challenge of maintaining it. Manon urges her team to maintain a challenger brand mindset rather than the status quo. To forget being a leader & focus on being agile & disrupting through innovation. To reward loyalty & never taking anything for granted, continuously reinventing. After leaving Vidéotron in Jan. 2019, Manon spent 2.5 years on the board of 8 different organizations, gaining perspective & experiences that she was able to parlay into her new role. Her positions ranged from Board Director, Audit Committee Member of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group to Corporate Director of the National Bank of Canada. Manon also held several positions at US-based companies, including BFA Industries and NY-based broadband provider, Altice. These experiences equipped Manon with a fresh perspective & problem-solving skills. At Cirque du Soleil she deepened her understanding of connecting and listening to consumers. Today, it’s Manon’s top priority to be the voice of consumers. The launch of 5G home and +Play were just the beginning. Manon’s mission is to put the value of Verizon’s award-winning network within reach to all consumers by offering new services for both new and existing subscribers.
