Ms. Sierra was recently invited to be a panelist at the 2022 Summit of the Americas to speak to the private and public sectors about the use of tech innovation to fight corruption. She was also named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2020. More recently, she was an honoree in the Business Award Category for the Hispanic Leadership Awards 2022 given by the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
This past year under her leadership, BH Compliance introduced blockchain technology to its monitoring platforms. For decades, the compliance industry has been slow in adopting innovations to fight corruption. She is one of the few leaders in the compliance monitoring space that uses Blockchain and AI. Blockchain has added a new level of security and authenticity to the evidentiary documents we generate for her clients.

After seeing the impact that corruption has on democracy and the well-being of nations, Susana decided to join the fight against LatAm’s culture of bribes. She co-founded BH Compliance and works closely with multinationals operating in Latin America to monitor their anti-corruption compliance programs to prevent or identify unethical behavior before 'bad practices' become institutionalized. Her company provides clients with an innovative technological platform, including Blockchain, to document and generate evidence that their policies, procedures, and good corporate practices are in compliance. It analyzes the effectiveness of a company’s risk-based compliance program, the metrics a company collects and uses to help detect misconduct, and whether a compliance program is regularly reviewed to update policies, procedures, and controls to meet the US Department of Justice guidelines and in-country anti-corruption laws. She works with more than 150 global business groups which have operations, subsidiaries, and headquarters in Latin American countries. This year she opened a new office in Miami, FL to target US-based multinationals with a strong culture of regulatory compliance and best practices with operations in Latin America.

These achievements are significant because they showcase how Ms. Sierra has established herself as a global leader in the corporate compliance and anti-corruption fields. What separates her is that she is a young female leader, in a male-dominated industry, who works to restore trust in the world by fighting corruption and promoting a culture of integrity and good corporate practices. She was often dismissed by Latin American business leaders due to my age and gender. Despite these challenges, she remained driven to change the world. Today, she not only works closely with companies to promote good corporate governance, but also, she is educating the next generation on how bribery and corruption erode democracy and citizens' quality of life. She seeks to instill in others that the private sector must lead the fight against corruption. When they say ‘no’ to bribes, the public sector will correct itself, strengthening democracies in the world.
