Defying the pandemic Mona created opportunities for students to channelise their energies to positively engage in learning to keep them away from the anxiety and stress that the pandemic has brought about. She launched the #KeepOnlearning webinar series in 2020 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfrQ2J3fF_E) to get students to involve themselves in positive activities of learning and staying free from stress. As a part of the series more than a hundred webinars were conducted by over 200 IBMers. Mona’s team won the silver Stevie award in 2020 for KeepOnLearning during Covid Pandemic.
TeachMeSomething with Nikhil Taneja Series helped students learn from the Top Leaders in IBM during the Covid pandemic.
Mona tied up with NPTEL in India to have many IBMers deliver sessions on both technology and leadership topics on the NPTEL Special Lecture series. This has helped students in every nookof India learn to channelise their efforts into becoming ready for a new future.
Mona and her team Introduced an all virtual/Digital Hackathon for students, called the IBM Hack Challenge 2020 and it is being repeated in 2021 to help students code for a better future. In 2020 students were Invited to code for a purpose through meaningful problem statements that included Covid-19 related problems – Impact of Covid19 on food security and Sentiment Analysis of Covid 19 Tweets – Visualization dashboard in 2020. 4000+ Students were trained through digital bootcamps and got digital badges, participation certificates, exciting prizes, and mentorship from IBM.
