Tell the story about your organization's innovations in sales or business development since the beginning of July 2013 (up to 650 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:
Having always placed an emphasis on full-service credit management and advising for each enrolled consumer, United Credit Consultants’ consumer relations department conducted research and gathered data for an internal audit on consumer ‘success’.
The aim was to find if each past-enrolled client fully reached or obtained the goal or new item originally wanted at the start of the credit process. The results showed a consumer success rate at 57%. This new information motivated CEO Joseph McGlynn and upper management to develop the final piece that didn’t exist until December 2013.
UCC works with a very select group of individuals to service consumers who have current credit situations that would be prohibited on obtaining loans or lease opportunities. McGlynn found through the research that most people with credit concerns are mostly motivated if a need was necessary. A need could be a car loan, home loan, a refinance of a loan, student loan, etc.
Research showed that the overall service options offered by UCC up until December 2013 had felt to be constricted and not able to fully service each consumer . A demand for closure, completion and settlement of debts was at an all-time high.
Then in December 2013, the innovative minds within UCC created, developed and received licensing for Debt Settlement Solutions™ (DSS). This is a debt-settlement service program and option for each UCC credit service client during the enrollment period.
This additional program gives each client the opportunity to settle or work out a payment solution on debts that are continuing to affect their credit report, score, and profile for lending approval. This service program is uniquely constructed by placing money and savings as a top priority while focusing on the improvement of the client’s credit as the standalone motivator of the settlement of debts.
This debt-settlement education highlights the understanding of credit and the negative effects collections have on consumer credit reports. The difference that a FICO™ Certified Debt Settlement Specialist makes is in the strategies implemented taken on both debt obligations and their impact on a person’s credit score. DSS provides clients with several resources and tools to help ensure they are successful. This includes information that will help them better understand all debt relief options, credit scores, budgeting, how credit cards work, and how to regain and maintain financial control.
UCC's dedicated Debt Negotiation Specialists work on payment for deletion tactics, settlement with minimal payment plan requirements, and other options to restrict and limit the amount of negative activity on clients’ credit report profiles and scores. .
Final assessment and placement of each UCC-enrolled client from January – November 2014 shows a client success rate increasing 22.9% to a current 79% consumer ‘Credit Goal’ success rate.
DSS has improved the clients ‘Goal Success’ by settling, servicing, and managing client’s negative accounts that have been verified as needing to be settled prior to title closing on their personal or mortgage loan.
Having this in-house debt settlement service prior to December 2013 was not an option since UCC was not licensed with the state to service and offer debt settlement. It’s rare in the credit industry for a credit service organization to be licensed additionally in debt settlement. More than 99% of all credit service organizations nationally do not service legally or are licensed correctly. UCC saw this as an opportunity to set the business apart while helping our clients improve their credit and financial outlook.
