Trupanion, a company that offers medical insurance to cats and dogs, has been taking care of pet owners since its founding in 2000 by offering simple, fair and affordable medical coverage in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Despite the North American health insurance industry stigma, Trupanion has experienced tremendous growth in the past five years. The company has excelled by offering one simple comprehensive plan, providing quick claims response and, most importantly, succeeding in superior customer service in order to stand apart from market competitors.
Trupanion is proud to recognize Caitlin Everett as the Sales Representative of the Year.
Caitlin joined Trupanion in October 2013 and transferred to the sales team the following May. She had not sold before, but based on how easy she is to talk to, it came natural for her. Outside of work Caitlin enjoys hiking, biking, yoga, crafting, concerts, and most recently, studying for her Property and Casualty insurance license, which is no easy task, as the first time test pass rate averages 50%.
What she loves most about working at Trupanion is the combination of people, pets and an innovative business model.
Caitlin joined Trupanion as a Customer Care Representative in October 2013 and based on her early success, was recruited to be on the sales team in May 2014. With only 7 months in the role during the year, she shattered previous sales records, enrolling the highest average pets on the sales team at 244 per month, totaling 1,676 for 2014. Considering she had no prior sales experience, this is quite the accomplishment!
As any leader will validate, it’s never all about the numbers. Caitlin’s attitude is that of a blossoming leader, a willingness to help her teammates, humility when receiving coaching, and a desire to improve and grow professionally. Caitlin was featured in our department newsletter offering advice for improving sales, and she provided sales tips content that will be distributed to the sales team throughout the coming year to keep them motivated to emulate Caitlin’s approach.
