Company: UNICEF Thailand, Bangkok, Bangkok Company Description: UNICEF Thailand works to improve the lives of all children in Thailand and beyond. When we began our work in 1948, we focused on children’s health, nutrition and sanitation by fighting life-threatening diseases and providing clean drinking water, safe sanitation, corn-soy milk and iodized salt. Now, UNICEF supports the design and implementation of laws and policies for child rights and well-being. UNICEF Thailand transforms children's lives. This is life-affirming but complex work, involving collaborating with the Government and partners on progressive laws and policies. Previous reports focused on this technical work without fully capturing how powerfully it affected real lives.
In 2023, we wanted to engage all partners: not just Government/development sector, but also Thai people/businesses who donate and media/celebrities who could champion our cause.
We took a bold new direction, from "annual" to "impact" report, with a more visual style and user-friendly special features, including an illustrated "10 milestones" centrepiece (with statistics) and a "map of impact".
A theme of "A Tale Of Two Thailands" creatively spotlighted inequality as our primary focus, captured in our split image cover and illustrative, statistics-driven story of two lives.
For the first time, we included young people speaking out, full financial figures, and a double-page spread on Thailand's contribution to UNICEF globally.
The Thai/English report also had to shine in very different typefaces and word-lengths.
Previous reports required a print-run of 250 a year. In two months, demand for the impact report has reached 450 and online versions have been downloaded in record numbers. Feedback is overwhelmingly positive, cementing partnerships and forging new ones.
