In the Philippines, over half of newly-opened businesses yearly are women-owned. However, statistics show that women entrepreneurs continue to face hurdles in strengthening their businesses, namely financial constraints, time limits, and lack of community support.

    Time Limits
Pinaypreneurs (Filipino women entrepreneurs) are challenged to balance business, childcare, and home life. This “double burden” overwhelmingly affects their business productivity and growth as they work from and for their home.

    Lack of Support

Women-owned ventures are reported to be most affected by the reported closing of 40-50% of new businesses. Contributing factors to this include limited profitability, family responsibilities, and restricted funding access.

    Financial Constraints

Many women-owned MSMEs in the Philippines face difficulties with complex loan requirements and local law biases that require spousal guarantees - limiting independent financing for married women, and hindering their autonomy.

Globe Business, an innovations and digital solutions partner of businesses in the Philippines, launched Project Pinaypreneurs 2023, a campaign to empower Filipina entrepreneurs through innovation, expertise, and care. Aligned with the 2023 United Nations International Women’s Month theme: “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality,” the brand aimed to help women-owned businesses succeed through solutions and enrichment programs that provide tech enablement, motivation, upskilling, and easier access to funding.

  5. If you are providing written answers to the questions for this category, you must answer this third question: Describe the development of the campaign or program: the planning process, the goal setting, the creative and media development, the scheduling, etc. (up to 250 words):

    Total 249 words used.

Globe Business designed the Pinaypreneur 2023 campaign with a comprehensive approach to educate, empower, and connect Pinaypreneurs to essential solutions and resources for their business, positioning Globe Business as a trusted partner of women entrepreneurs for success.

In achieving this, Globe Business planned for the campaign’s success by identifying the problems and needs of Pinaypreneurs, supplying their needs with the right resources and mentorship, and ultimately empowering women entrepreneurs by amplifying their stories.

    Identifying Pinaypreneur Challenges

Through research, Filipino women entrepreneurs were found to be mainly challenged with time constraints, lack of support, and financial constraints among others. These insights set the goal to empower women-led MSMEs through solutions and enrichment programs that provide tech enablement, motivation, upskilling, and easier access to funding.

    Innovation, Expertise, and Care

Globe Business implemented a comprehensive campaign to empower Pinaypreneurs, tackling challenges with innovation, expertise, and care.

First, WMSMEs were given free trials of Globe Business ICT solutions like Zayls (Inventory Management) and m360 (client engagement) to improve operational efficiency. In addition, Globe Business partnered with the Department of Trade and Industries and Proxtera to launch SME Financial Empowerment in the Philippines, providing digital financial literacy to WMSMEs.

More strategic partnerships with organizations like Go Negosyo and Women’s Business Council of the Philippines, as well as media collaborations with Cosmopolitan Philippines, were crucial for expertise and care initiatives. These efforts culminated in events, awards, and digital series like At Your Serbiz, showcasing successful stories of Pinaypreneurs, enabling discussions on innovation and financial inclusivity.

  6. If you are providing written answers to the questions for this category, you must answer this fourth question: Outline the activities and concrete results of this campaign or program since the beginning of 2019. Even if your initiative started before 2022, limit your response to activities and results since the beginning of 2022 only (up to 250 words):

    Total 247 words used.

By partnering with organizations and launching targeted programs, Globe Business utilized a multi-pronged approach in effectively integrating their offers and solutions as essential resources for Pinaypreneurs’ long-term success.

    These steps included:

    Free Trials of Productivity Solutions:
Globe Business offered free trials of ICT solutions such as Zayls Inventory Management Solution and m360 DIY (client engagement) allowing Pinaypreneurs to experience its benefits firsthand. Afterward, almost 100 members converted to subscription, generating over ₱1.1 million in revenue.

    Financial Literacy Programs:
Globe Business also collaborated with the Department of Trade and Industries and Proxtera, to launch SME Financial Empowerment, which educated WSMEs on digital financial literacy.

    Mentorship and Recognition:
Globe Business participated in industry events alongside Go Negosyo and the Women's Business Council, empowering Pinaypreneurs with knowledge of digital transformation solutions.

The brand partnered with Cosmopolitan Philippines to recognize successful female entrepreneurs through the "Cosmopolitan Women of Influence Innovator Award” and featured thriving Pinaypreneurs on "At Your Serbiz,” a digital series led by Globe Business, to share valuable insights on navigating financial challenges and how Globe Business solutions improved their operations..

As a result, the campaign yielded a significant 434% increase in awareness by reaching untapped audiences online and offline, strengthening the visibility of Globe Business solutions across various platforms.

Ultimately, Globe Business goes beyond ICT solutions by creating a comprehensive campaign that educates, empowers, and connects Pinaypreneurs to essential solutions and resources for their business, positioning Globe Business as a trusted partner of women entrepreneurs for success.
