Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh takes on the position of General Director of Viettel Post from May 18, 2022. CEO Hoang Trung Thanh (born in 1983) used to hold many positions on the board of directors at branches with large market shares of Viettel in Vietnam such as ones in Hanoi, Hai Phong, at Viettel Telecommunications Corporation (Viettel Telecom) as well as in international markets such as Cambodia, Timor Leste and Myanmar. Since taking over the position of CEO, Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh has brought Viettel Post to become the enterprise with the largest delivery market share in Vietnam and the only logistics enterprise investing abroad. In particular, with the goal of comprehensively developing Viettel Post, CEO of Viettel Post Hoang Trung Thanh pays special attention to human factors, considering people as the core strategy for all strategies.
In 2023, Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh was one of 20 professional CEOs recognized by Forbes Vietnam. Among those, Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh was the youngest CEO on the list and was also in the top 10 CEOs who had been accompanying the business for over 15 years. Statistics-from -Forbes-Vietnam-in-April-2023 provided a list of 20 CEOs - people who were promoted as a worthy reward after an enough long-timed working process, and recognized for their work efficiency. The CEOs on this list are aged 40-49, leading state-owned companies, FDI companies, and private companies in terms of highest revenue (Petrolimex, MB bank, BIDV, Viettel Post, FPT, ...) and all have long-term experience. They have all been attached and devoted to the business and are all reputable CEOs for leading their businesses to achieve outstanding development milestones.
According to the policy of CEO Hoang Trung Thanh: "Viettel Post will play a key role in building national logistics infrastructure, contributing to making Vietnam become the connection-logistics-infrastructure among ASEAN and China markets". In the period of 2022-2024, accumulated pre-profits have increased by 45% compared to the previous periods; in particular, delivery - the core sector of Viettel Post has grown 3.3 times faster than the overall growth of the Postal industry.
In 2023, Viettel Post also utilized a series of new technologies in operational stages of the enterprise; especially, smart sorting technology complexes putting into practices at various exploitation centers, has contributed to shortening the total processing time for postal items via Viettel Post by 8 - 10 hours, to increasing efficiency up to 3.5 times, and to make error rate be almost 0. The mobile application serving the tasks of postmen also includes some following features such as routing; planning, ensuring the shortest and fastest moving paths, integrating QR code payment, which is convenient for package-delivery processes.
CEO Hoang Trung Thanh is also considerate towards his employees by the fact that he has built motivation and improved working life which plays a key role in forming a strong team within Viettel Post. From his perspectives that humans are one of decisive factors for the success, Viettel Post has developed some methods to increase income for laborers, especially those serving on the front lines. Accordingly, depending on output during the peak periods, the wages of postmen at Viettel Post are likely to increase by 40 - 60% compared to normal days.
In terms of the orientation in 2024, CEO Hoang Trung Thanh said, Viettel Post is going to go on expanding new space to perfect the Logistics field, focusing on 5 main spearheads: express delivery; smart supply chain; cross-border logistics infrastructure and services; national logistics infrastructures such as logistics park, smart border gate, ICD dry port….; foreign investment in Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, China, and Thailand, creating a connecting corridor between China, Southeast Asian countries and Vietnam; master technology in building green and smart logistics infrastructures.
