Lita Shon-Roy is considered one of the foremost experts in semiconductor supply chains. She has authored and published hundreds of reports and articles relating to semiconductor materials markets, technology, and supply chains, and has been cited in notable publications such as the Wall Street Journal.
Through her organization, TECHCET, she has helped guide the industry’s direction on semiconductor process materials markets and supply chain chokepoints.
Lita Shon-Roy’s personal mission is to assist decision making throughout the semiconductor value chain with "actionable (ready-to-use) information" on materials needed for chip production. “Corporate and government decision making relies on not only having pertinent information available, but having it ready in a fast, clear, and easy medium so it can be put to good use," Shon-Roy points out.
Upon taking over as CEO in 2016, TECHCET took off as a trusted global source for semiconductor materials information. In 2016, Shon-Roy negotiated with SEMATECH to absorb the Critical Materials Council (CMC), a consortia of chip fabricators focused on understanding the materials supply chain, into TECHCET. Since then, Shon-Roy has grown the CMC from 7 small chip fabricators to 15 chip fabricators and 60 material suppliers, all who are actively supported through TECHCET's market research.
- If you are providing written answers to the questions for this category, you must answer this second question: Outline the nominee's thought leadership achievements since 1 January 2022 that you wish to bring to the judges' attention (up to 250 words):

Shon-Roy's leadership of TECHCET has actively supported a large number of global chip fabricators, material and equipment suppliers, and government entities, with market research, analysis, and insight on semiconductor supply chains. Acclaimed for being "one of the most relevant businesses in the industry," by a leading chip company, Shon-Roy has helped clients navigate through a myriad of issues relating to raw materials sources amidst China/US trade geopolitics and war in the Middle East. In today’s environment where every major country is gearing up for huge expansions in chip making, Shon-Roy's contributions in understanding semiconductor supply chain dynamics is more crucial than ever.
Under TECHCET, Shon-Roy has and is continuing to support the US Department of Commerce and US International Trade Office evaluate risks of imbalanced material dependencies on China and Russia. She has also supported the US CHIPS Office in assessing materials availability and criticality for US chip production, in development of the US CHIPS Act.
Alongside this, Shon-Roy's leadership of TECHCET continues to support the Critical Materials Council of major chip fabricators and material suppliers with understanding the materials supply chain. These supply chain players are informed on material supply trends so that they can mitigate potential shortages that may lead to shutdowns in chip production.
In sum, Shon-Roy stands as a trusted industry expert in navigating the semiconductor materials supply chain. Her work has given leaders in the industry relevant knowledge on trends, requirements, and priorities to support decision making for the worldwide growth in chip production
- If you are providing written answers to the questions for this category, you must answer this third question: Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the nominee's past performance (up to 250 words):

Unlike most advisory / consulting companies, Shon-Roy has built a successful hybrid organization melding timely and trusted market research with structured collaboration events for key stakeholders in the supply chain. Shon-Roy developed TECHCET to not just advise companies about the business of semiconductor process materials, but to bring the entire ecosystem together to increase learning and understanding between chip makers and their suppliers. This is achieved through TECHCET's facilitation of Critical Materials Council (CMC) events, which gathers member subscribers from across the chip-making ecosystem to learn about trends and discuss topics of common concern. TECHCET leads bi-yearly panel sessions and round table discussions on key topics, such as environmental regulations and geopolitical impacts, featuring representatives from suppliers and chip fabricators. TECHCET also hosts an annual CMC Conference, providing an organized forum for presentations and networking on pertinent business and technical issues.
Alongside these events, CMC members have access to TECHCET advisory information through annually generated Critical Materials Reports™, quarterly Advisory Alert Webinars hosted by analysts, and one-on-one discussion with analysts, all featuring snapshots on market trends and forecasting.
TECHCET is also highly differentiated in providing trusted market information. Through years of engagement with key industry contacts and customers, TECHCET has built a trusted network to validate and guide the direction of the Company. Whereas other organizations base their work on internet searching sprinkled with broad-brush forecasts, TECHCET focuses on collecting primary research from industry experts, allowing for detailed bottoms-up modeling based on in-house technical knowledge of semiconductor processing.
