Roccoco is a skincare brand that provides solutions for challenging skin conditions. The brand was founded by Jacine Drummond, a beauty therapist and mother who struggled with skin issues herself, as well as her son's eczema and dermatitis and her daughter's cystic acne.
Jacine knew she had to find a solution. As a beauty therapist, she was driven to innovate in the skincare field. Looking for solutions revealed that many skincare products were filled with harsh chemicals not ideal for young skin, and none with long-lasting solutions.
From her kitchen table, Jacine started experimenting with and trialling different concoctions and ingredients. Her solutions worked for her children, so she thought ‘why not?’. Despite being in the midst of a messy divorce, Jacine launched Roccoco in 2011 and started trading in 2013 and the company reinvested its profits back into the business to keep growing.
Drummond's personal experience led her to create a range of skincare products that are gentle and effective, with a focus on using natural ingredients that are safe for young skin. Her background in cosmetic formulation and six diplomas, as well as a Bachelor of Nursing, helped her to create products that cater to people with challenging skin conditions. The brand's name, Roccoco, comes from the French Rococo style, which is associated with nature, youth, and beauty.
Since its inception, and under Jacines guidance, Roccoco has grown significantly, with a turnover of $34k in the first year, $199k in 2015, $515k in 2017, $1.66m in 2019, $3.25m in 2020, and $3.5m in 2021. The company was recognized as the Fastest Growing Beauty Brand in Australia by the Financial Times in 2022 and was listed by the Australian Financial Review as the 66th fastest-growing beauty brand in Australia in 2021. Roccoco was also a finalist in the Indie category for the Alle Cosmetic and Toiletries Innovation Award, and its environmentally sustainable product, the Ruby Crystal Cleaners, was a winner.
Roccoco's success is due in part to Jacines commitment to customer happiness, with a focus on providing solutions for challenging skin issues. The brand's newest product, the Frangipani and Lychee Body Firming Creme, was developed with the help of a $50k grant from the Queensland Government Big Plans for Small Business Package, which allowed the company to purchase specialized equipment.
Customer happiness is at the heart of the brand, helping customers like Annette Densham who posted about her concerns regarding excess skin and cellulite after weight loss surgery in 2021. We reached out to her to try our newest product - body-firming creme.  She has been using it for three months and the results have been phenomenal. All areas of concern on her body have been minimised.
Roccoco's newest marketing team members reflect the company's growth over the past 12 months, and Jacine is committed to ongoing education for herself, her team, and her customers.
Armed with six Diplomas and a Bachelor of Nursing, and over 20 years as a beauty therapist with an in-depth background in cosmetic formulation, Jacine has built Roccoco to hold its own in this competitive space. She has dedicated Roccoco to ongoing research and innovation, with a focus on natural skincare ingredients. The company's mission is to elevate people to a place where they feel comfortable with their skin and beauty, and it has achieved significant growth despite personal setbacks and challenges.
As the brand founder, Jacine's commitment to customers and focus on innovation has led to its recognition as a leading skincare brand in Australia. Now, 10 years later, Jacine is recognised internationally as a highly respected educator passionate about the skin care industry and caring for people’s skin.
