Nikhil Jayaraj commenced his journey by completing his Bachelor of Engineering and Double Masters in Business Management from the University of Wollongong. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctorate on “Transition towards Solar Energy Transition: A multi level perspective. Since he became Managing Director of Regen Power in 2016, Regen has achieved remarkable growth of 600% in sales and revenue. From a turnover of $ 5M in 2015-2016, the company increased revenue to $ 30M in 2021-2022 and the annualized 70% revenue growth in 2021-2022.
As far as his achievements since 2021 are concerned, Nikhil’s contribution and leadership qualities were recognized by CEO Insights Magazine when he won the 40 Under 40 Award 2020 WA by Business News, Top 10 Indian Leaders in Australia 2022 Award. AsiaOne Magazine ranked him as the Most Influential Young Leaders 2021 and 2022, and he became a finalist in Managing Director of the year’ category in The CEO Magazine's Executive of the Year Awards 2022. He got the opportunity to deliver a presentation at the World Renewable Energy Conference 2022 on the topic Renewable Energy: A Pathway to Economic Recovery and Climate Change Mitigation.
Moreover, his rigour to make a meaningful impact in the solar energy industry fuelled him to pursue his Doctorate of Business Administration. His research topic, “Transition towards Solar Energy Transition: A multi level perspective,” will add to the UNSDG’s one of the 17 primary goals, i.e., affordable and clean energy. It will help electricity retailers and customers to overhaul their existing infrastructure for smooth adoption of SES.
Nikhil was one of the 25 delegates chosen by Smart Energy Council’s delegation to India in march 2023 along with PM Antony Albanese. The delegation met with Indian companies who are developing major projects in Australia & looking to licence Australian smart energy innovations.
Last two years have been great for Regen Power. Under Nikhil Jayaraj’s leadership, Regen started operations in all over Australia. The rate of installation is up by 300% and it will continue to grow like this for the next 5 years according to our analytics. After national expansion, it will have 10% of the market share.. · For current FY, 2022-23, expects Regen to complete 30MW installations with $ 35 million turnover and 10 % market share.
· For last financial year 2021-2022, market share increased to 9% with 30MW installations and $27 million turnover.
· For 2020-2021, the business installed 20MW solar plants, minted $ 22.4 million turnover and were able to hold on to the 8 % market share.
Marketing strategy is all Nikhil’s brainchild. The digital marketing strategy helped the business garner 320,000 unique visitors and 3200 systems in 2020-2021 and 345,000 unique visitors and 3500 systems in 2021-2022. Cricket Legend Bret Lee was on boarded as the brand ambassador of Regen Power in 2021 and this move made Regen household name in Australia. Other marketing strategies resulted in reduced cost per acquisition by 50%. By Nikhil’s grit and astute vision, Regen is growing at the speed of light.
Regen became the only company in Australia which has been securing a ranking in the ‘Top 500 High Growth Companies in Asia Pacific’ by Financial Times four times in a row; 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023..
