    A new stage in the life of our organization began after the celebration of the “Big Room: Unleashing your potential”, an internal corporate event that served to present the new strategic vision of Grupo Universal and its different subsidiaries, which will lead us to be a centennial company based in innovation, collaborative work and delivery of quality goods and services in the Dominican Republic.  

    After the hard work of holding 15 collaborative tables during 42 days, 200 hours of deep involvement and over 180 people participating  from different multidisciplinary teams, in which we conducted an in-depth diagnosis of the organization in order to build our desired future, and define the strategic route to make it happen.  

    On April 13th, 2023, we held this corporate event  that brought together our entire executive and management team, allowing us to share our vision for the short, medium, and long term, projecting the destination we have designed for our organization, in which each member of Grupo Universal will be able to “unleash their full potential”.  

    For this event, all the details were taken care of to the maximum during the preparation of what we call “The Big Room”. The location, setting, lighting, speeches, special guests... Each element was evaluated in previous work sessions, making decisions that, together, gave life to a true corporate experience and great encouragement for all of pur guests.  

    The meeting took place in a movie theater in Santo Domingo and, after the launch event, we continue to deploy our vision of growth to the rest of the organization at national level, under what we have called "The Strategic Route".  

    In a 360° look, “The Big Room” allowed us to:  

    1. Inform the entire organization about the define strategy for Grupo Universal 
    1. Motivate collaborators to participate, work as a team and to understand their level of co-responsibility.  
    1. Start an open dialogue about further actions.  
    1. Strengthen the employees sense of belonging to the organization. 

    For this occasion, several videos were additionally prepared to accompany and explain the central message for the campaign, we presented testimonials of those who shared their "Stories that endorse our preferred future", while the leaders of the subsidiaries and Corporate Center, presented what will be the contribution of each area and business units for the construction of our collective future.  

    “Unleashing our potential” included the participation of the president of Grupo Universal, Mr. Rafael Izquierdo, as well as the VP of Strategy, Mr. Mauro Calle, who motivated all the attendees with their words. The day ended with a talk by the motivational speaker Mr. Maickel Melamed,  recognizing those abilities needed to succeed, and the value of perseverance.  

    Exceeding our participation goal, more than 250 senior management and C-level employees attended the activity with excellent results: 

    • 99% understood the corporate vision and preffered future of Grupo Universal 
    • 98% understood the challenges that we have for the future
    • 98% understood their role  in the process of building the preferred future of the company 

    Our internal survey supports these results of an event that, for the majority of the attendees, was described as motivating, encouraging, and with enough synergy to create a great future for Grupo Universal.
